Another Advanced camp complete! This week’s agenda included learning distances and keeping pace, tempo and rhythm. We worked in the arena doing various gymnastics until riders could confidently execute the required canter strides over the obstacle. Once achieved our amazing equestrians tested their skills outside of the arena out in the open. These videos perfectly capture the hard work and determination each one of them put in everyday showing exponential growth over our 5 days. During our stable management classes we discussed anatomy, first aid, sign of illness, and the broken down components of jumping and gymnastics over fences. Riders were instructed on how to read their horses expressions and reactions and were given tools on how to reward and recognize stress and relaxation. We also had a great discussion on a rider’s goals, development, and connection to their horse. I was blown away by how much these campers supported each other, cheered each other on and how exceptional their horsemanship was. They all made me very proud this week. This coming week we are excited to be hosting our all level campers! It’s sure to be full of excitement and fun! See you soon! Tally Ho!

Spring Break was full of excitement fun and learning! We experienced all 4 seasons this week and it didn’t stop anyone from getting out on horseback! From first trots to first jumps and cantering the kids really excelled all week. Some started the week of on lead line and by the end of the week were fully independent and even learned rising trot! Now that’s determination! It was wonderful seeing familiar faces from last year and how much you’ve grown! We also welcomed some pretty enthusiastic new faces this year who were so fun to coach. Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who put in several thousand steps each day to allow the kids to flourish in their riding skills. What may seem like no big deal to you is a huge deal for them, and a lifetime core memory as a kid at horse camp. Until next time friends, one two one two, chin up and eyes ahead! See you all at Summer Camp. Summer Registration dates located on our page! Check it out!

The kids braved the rain and still rode their ponies through the trails today! We had to clean our tack of course after, learning parts of the bridle and how to take it apart and put it back together again. We also enjoyed this really fun bond building exercise with our ponies, letting the horses do the painting this time! It was really cool seeing all the different patterns each horse made with their tongues and teeth!
