Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we take time to listen, reflect, learn, and remember. 🧡

We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the generations who continue to carry the impacts of colonialism.

This photo of Lena and Takoda feels especially meaningful today. Lena is Afro-Indigenous, and the connection she and Takoda have built is something beautiful to witness. Their relationship is one rooted in trust, patience, understanding, and simply being present with one another. 🐴🧡

At Namastables, connection to animals, to the land, and to one another is at the heart of what we do. We also recognize that the land we gather, work, learn, and care for our animals on is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Kwantlen First Nation.

Truth and reconciliation cannot belong to just one day. It asks us to keep listening, keep learning, acknowledge the truths of the past and present, and consider how we can be part of meaningful change.

Today we wear orange. We remember. We honour. And we continue to learn.

After such a beautiful day together at our last workshop, we’re doing it again! 🫶🏼🐴

Join us October 10th from 10 AM–2 PM at Namastables for another Rooted & Connected workshop. Take a few hours to slow down, reconnect, spend time with the animals, and fill your own cup. 💗

✨ ROOTED & CONNECTED ✨

What a beautiful day. 🌿🐴💗

This weekend we had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with Jennifer from Mujen Community for our Rooted & Connected workshop at Namastables. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better group, better weather, or a more beautiful day together.

We created, connected, reflected, laughed, ate amazing food and made space to simply slow down and be present.

🎨 We got creative painting horseshoes
🔥 We released what we were ready to let go of with a special full moon burning ritual
🌿 We took a mindful meditation walk along the creek
☕ We started the morning with coffee and enjoyed tea & cookies throughout the day
🥗 We shared the most incredible vegan lunch
✨ And Jennifer and I led a beautiful group Reiki session alongside Takoda and Azura. Both horses were absolutely incredible and seemed to know exactly what the group needed. By the end, I had tears in my own eyes.

Of course, we couldn’t resist a couple of extra special visitors… Mini Matilda and baby Nox came in to meet everyone and completely stole the show. 🥹🦄🖤

There was something really special about this group. The openness, the conversations, the laughter, the quiet moments, the animals, the sunshine… all of it.

The feedback we received afterward meant so much to us, and knowing that everyone left having had such a wonderful experience is exactly why we love creating days like this.

A huge thank you to Jen from Mujen for collaborating with me and bringing her beautiful energy and gifts to Namastables, and to every single person who chose to spend their day with us. 💗

We arrived together, we slowed down together, we let go of a few things… and hopefully everyone left feeling just a little more rooted & connected. 🌿✨
