Out of Office 🌿

Myself and the resident floofball will be away July 7th–13th!

I’ll be responding to any emails, texts, and calls when I’m back on July 14th.

I hope everyone’s summer is off to a great start! ☀️

Hopefully Obi gets a little more practice on the SUP while we’re away… he may look elegant, but graceful? Not so much. 😅 Hence the soggy dog you see here.

🌾 It's Spear Grass Season! 🌾

Spear Grass is rampant on the Westshore this year folks! Seems like it’s getting worse every year so please be extra diligent during your ventures with your pup. The seeds may be small, but they can pose a serious risk to dogs. Their barbed seed heads can attach to fur and migrate into the skin, ears, eyes, nose, paws, and other areas of the body.

⚠️ Watch for:
• Excessive licking or chewing
• Head shaking
• Sneezing
• Limping
• Swelling or redness
• Squinting or eye irritation

🐾 Check your dog carefully after walks, especially around the paws, ears, face, armpits, and between the toes.

If you suspect a spear grass injury, contact your veterinarian promptly.

My senior pup had a very sensitive tummy in his final years. Lots of chicken and rice. I wish I had known about this!!
