A BioThane® slip leash built for walks that start early and run long. No clasp, no stiffening up in the heat, just a loop that stays smooth however far you go.

This is what a walk looks like when the gear was made to keep up.

The trail doesn't ask how prepared you are.

Hot pavement, creek crossings, dusty ridgelines. Gear either handles it or it doesn't. And the hardware? We've been working on something.

Full guide to late summer trail conditions linked in bio.

The moment your dog stops pulling and starts checking in, that's when you know a handsfree dog leash is actually ready to work.

The switch isn't about new gear. It's about the skill your dog already has, walking on a mostly slack line, transferring to a new connection point at your waist. Our latest guide walks through the readiness check, the short low-distraction sessions, and the signs it's not time yet. Full guide linked in bio.

The leash you reach for says a lot about how you walk. One person wants a single leash that becomes whatever the day turns into. Another already knows their setup and wants the pieces made for it, nothing to adjust, nothing to second-guess at the trailhead.

That's the real question with handsfree, and it has less to do with features than with how you actually move. One leash that converts on the fly, waist-worn and adjustable. Or a leash and a connector built as dedicated pieces. We wrote the whole thing down, both setups and when each one earns its place (full guide linked in bio).

Both run on BioThane®, so the setup holds up the same on day one and day one hundred.

◆ You'll know the difference the moment it arrives.

One leash, and however the walk unfolds, you're ready for it.
A slip lead when you need it, a classic leash when you don't.

No swapping gear halfway through the walk. No second leash in the bag just in case.

Sirius moves with you, whichever way the day goes.

Six months into trail season, the hardware on your dog gear starts to pit. The collar buckle leaves a faint mark on pale fur. The hardware that looked silver in the product photo has gone chalky brown. That is not bad luck. That is a materials decision made before you ever saw the gear.

316 stainless is our hardware default. Style options exist and not every change is a step up on the metal. If you go gold finish on a rolled product, the clamp is brass. Brass patinas. 316 does not. We say that upfront so you can choose accordingly. The full hardware breakdown is in the blog, link in the bio.

Four blues. Three finishes. Twelve combinations.

Lagoon, Sapphire, Periwinkle, Indigo next to stainless, black, and gold. This is what they actually look like together. Not a render, not a mockup.

Your dog's gear should still be working by mile eight. The heat builds. The water crossings come up fast. By then, it either holds or it doesn't.

BioThane® doesn't soak up water. No swelling, no stiffness, no drying time. That's not a spec sheet line. That's what it looks like when your dog climbs out of the water and you're already moving again.

We build for that. Ten weekends in, the Arcane looks the same as it did on week one. Nothing swollen. Nothing stiff. That's the part you stop thinking about, because it stops being a question.

Full summer gear checklist is on the blog, linked in bio.

A slip leash that sits too low works against you on every single walk, and most people never catch it.

You have probably seen it happen. The dog that figured out mid-trail how to soften its neck and back out. The leash that crept down past the throat and lost its release exactly when you needed it most. That is not a training problem. That is a fit problem, and it plays out the same way on pavement as it does on rooted singletrack.

Where the leash sits on the neck determines everything: whether it holds position, whether it releases cleanly, and whether your dog ever figures out the geometry before you do. BioThane® handles the conditions. Fit handles the rest.

We broke the whole thing down in this week's blog so you know exactly where to set it and why it stops slipping, full guide linked in bio.

◆ The shortcut was never an option.
