Wildfire smoke doesn’t just affect us—it can affect our pets too.
If possible, keep outdoor time short on smoky days, save longer walks for when air quality improves, and make sure your pets have access to plenty of fresh water and a cool, comfortable place indoors.
Watch for signs such as coughing, excessive panting, difficulty breathing, low energy, or irritated eyes. Puppies, kittens, senior pets, and pets with heart or lung conditions may be especially sensitive to poor air quality.
And if you and your pet need a break from the smoke, you’re always welcome to stop by the clinic during business hours. Come cool off in the air conditioning, help yourself to some fresh water for your pet, and let them enjoy a few treats while you’re here 🤍
