For Ursula, rescue was just the first step in what is becoming a long journey.
Ursula was one of 37 mastiffs found living in severe distress on a rural property. After a difficult rescue and ongoing medical treatment, she continued to face challenges — from fear and anxiety to repeated setbacks in finding a foster or adoptive home. Nearly two years later, she finally found a foster placement where she is safe, comfortable, and beginning to settle.
Ursula still needs more veterinary care before she can be cleared for adoption. Her story isn’t over yet, but it highlights the need for a strong animal welfare network in our province and the ongoing support needed for animals to fully recover.
