What better way to celebrate the Fall season than indulging in some delicious baked goods? 😻 AND for a good cause?! 😱

If you have a spare second to pop by the clinic this upcoming Monday or Tuesday** (or if you already have an appointment 👀) consider buying a delicious sweet treat to support the Farley Foundation.

The Farley Foundation is a charity that subsidizes the cost of necessary veterinary care for pets of low-income families in Ontario. Your donations can help the foundation care for more pets in need and protect the loving bond between a pet and their owner.

We hope to see you at the Bake Sale! 🎉🍰

**Baked goods available until supplies last.

Want to join in on the fun? Check out the details below! ⬇️
To enter our Pet Costume Contest, dress up your furry friend the next time you’re popping by our clinic. Our staff will do a little photoshoot at our photo station to be posted on our Facebook and Instagram during the month of October. You have until October 31st, end of day, to enter! Each like on your pet’s photo will be tallied as a vote, and whoever gets the most votes wins the prize! (We will have a dog AND a cat winner ☺️). Voting will be “closed” November 5th, end of day. Good luck!! 🎃👻

**Bob Kelso is a staff pet, so does not qualify as a competitor. But, he still LOVES attention and “likes” from his fans! 😸

Sept. 30th is the “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation”. 🧡 Today is a day to show support for residential school survivors and their families.

We acknowledge the City of Kitchener is situated on the Traditional Territory of the Chonnonton, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples. We recognize how enriched our community is thanks to the expansive knowledge and deep-rooted traditions of the diverse Indigenous Peoples within our community.

Today we stand with them in solidarity and encourage everyone, including ourselves, to take today to support our Indigenous communities by educating yourselves on what today stands for. We have listed some resources below as a step to help raise awareness:

🧡 The Indigenous Foundation
🧡 Orange Shirt Society

Today is “World Rabies Day”. It’s a day to increase awareness and promote prevention for this fatal disease.

The world has the vaccines, medicines, tools, and technologies to break the cycle of one of the oldest diseases, but a unified approach is crucial in the fight against rabies.

The Canadian Veterinarian Medical Association recommends that all dogs and cats get vaccinated against rabies. It is also legally required in the province of Ontario. Even pets that do not go outside should be vaccinated as rabid bats can gain entry into homes, and rabid wildlife such as skunks and raccoons can enter a fenced yard or obtain access to a home through a screened door.

Is your pet up to date on their rabies vaccine? 💉
