This sweet pup came in for a routine nail trim but also left with a complimentary tick removal! Even though they’re primarily an indoor dog and only go outside for bathroom breaks, they still managed to pick up a tick.

Ticks are becoming increasingly common in our area and can be found in parks, trails, and even your own backyard. We recommend checking your pets after they’ve been outside, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

☀️🐾 Summer Safety Tips for Pets! 🐾☀️

Warm weather means more outdoor adventures with our furry friends, but summer can also bring hidden dangers.

✅ Keep pets hydrated – Always provide fresh, clean water, especially during walks and outdoor play.

✅ Avoid hot pavement – If the ground feels too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your pet's paws. Walk during cooler morning or evening hours.

✅ Never leave pets in parked cars – Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise to dangerous levels within minutes, even with the windows cracked.

✅ Watch for signs of heatstroke – Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse require immediate veterinary attention.

✅ Protect against parasites – Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes are most active during summer. Stay up to date on preventive treatments.

✅ Practice water safety – Not all dogs are natural swimmers. Supervise pets around pools, lakes, and beaches.
