Hello Doon Animal Friends,
It is that time of year again - FLEA AND TICK PREVENTION TIME!!
As temperatures begin to rise over 4 degrees Celcius, fleas and ticks will start to emerge and look for canine and feline hosts. Tick-borne diseases affecting pets in our area include Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis. These diseases can have serious consequences for pets and people, so protection and prevention are important! Our tick season here in Ontario is primarily March - December but is transitioning to year-round.
For our full-grown adult patients, we recommend starting BRAVECTO, a 12-week flea and tick prevention (available in chewable tablets or topical applications). Three doses will get you through the average flea and tick season; however, if your pet is an avid adventurer during the winter months, we strongly recommend 4 doses to give them year-round prevention.
Our clinic is now offering Bravecto Quantum, a new injectable once-yearly flea and tick product for dogs. Bravecto Quantum uses the same trusted active ingredient found in Bravecto chews and topical products, but instead of lasting 3 months, a single injection provides protection for a full 12 months.
Once again, Bravecto is offering a rebate on the purchase of 2 or more doses.
We do have Bravecto One which is a monthly flea and tick prevention product for all our new puppies. Please email or call us at 519-748-6555 to order flea and tick prevention for your furry friends! We are well stocked!
We have been using Bravecto for many years now and love how effective, easy and SAFE it is.
Happy bug-free season

Transmitted through tick bites, Lyme disease can be hard to detect and cause serious, recurring health issues. It's best to prevent it by preventing tick bites.
