STAY COMMAND 🛑
It's the weekend baby & we're showing off A YEAR'S worth of training come to LIFE! This is a life saving command! (Keep reading for the good stuff) 😉
This video focuses on teaching your dog the STAY command. Important aspects of this video are listed below! 🛑🚦
✋Stay command: Say it with confidence and ONLY say the command ONCE.
🆗️ Release word: OK👌 consistency is key with this one. Use the same word and reinforce it, as you can see your dog should only move and come to you when released.
🗣Correction word: AH! When your dog hears this term, they know they need to listen up and make a correction because if not, the BIG NO⛔ is coming (no treats, no praise, no fun) Short stern hard syllable correction word is SO important as a motivator for your dog when training.
🙌 Reward the behavior: saying good dog / YES for good behaviour encourages your dog they are doing exactly what you want! Use a calm tone so they don't get overly excited!
🍖TREAT THE GOOD: Charlie's highly food motivated so he'll work his butt off for that reward but praise and toys work just as well. The longer the dog holds the command the bigger the praise and reward. (Only when calm)
