Did you know that dogs eat grass for a multitude of reasons and in a few different ways?
Our dogs instinctively know what they need. So sometimes, they'll eat grass because they want the extra nutrients. Sometimes, they'll eat grass because they're stressed. Sometimes, they'll eat grass because another dog has peed on it.
And it's not just that they eat grass, it's how they eat the grass that's the important part!
I've heard people say over and over again but they don't let their dogs eat grass, because the dog throws up. That's the whole point.
If you see your dog eating grass, fairly quickly, that means that there's something bothering them that they want to get rid of from their body. When they eat it fast, it means that they actually need to throw up. So whether that's acid reflux, or something is stuck, they eat the grass quickly, so they can throw up.
Now, when they eat grass more slowly, it can either mean, again that they want the extra nutrients, OR they have an upset belly and so they want the grass to move through their systems to help them p**p it out.
So I would encourage you, as long as it's not grass that's been sprayed with chemicals, that you just let your dog eat grass! And remember.... Let them do doggy things!!
