What a weekend
Roni and I competed and though we didn't place, it was a huge and tough class with 18 competitors.
No ribbons, but I didn't cry, didn't get mad at myself or overly frustrated with Roni.
I'm really proud of how far I've come with him and how much I've learned.

I even had the magical work on him for a few minutes after to show me where I need to focus and tweak his cut.

I was so happy to see all my grooming friends and shop at the booths, pick up some items for the salon and even a few client specific items.

Thanks as always to for her patience with my questions about all the things. and Stach was a lovely houseguest.

for the best customer service as usual.
And of course, Miss for her honourary 4th with Yoya.
Mike coming in clutch when I needed a hairspray. I prepped Roni in .grooming and dye and what a difference in his coat to work on.
I used my new which felt lovely.

Roni got a new collar since I broke his other one from

Another amazing show from .bongelli and with special mention to for her video skills around the ring.

There are infinite other people I saw, chatted with, met, said hi to and hung out with that wouldn't fit in one post. But thank you.

And as always, to my clients. Whom I absolutely could not do this without.

If anyone knows of a well bred sporting dog (English Cocker or a spaniel or a setter) or a nice wire coat they would be willing to let me learn with and practice on, I would love to expand my skills.

On to BC.

This powder works great for tear stains and decreasing the staining. It won't stop leakage completely, but it will greatly reduce how much staining is left.

If anyone wants me to grab them one, let me know. I can include it in my order for next weekend. The bags run around $35. It's a powder that gets added to their food so it lasts a while.

We did it!!!!

Finally! After weeks of back and forth and stress and me not sleeping from anxiety and worry about this, to completion. It's done.

I get to continue working, doing what I love and helping dogs feel their best.

It cost me a lot of money.
It wasn't fun.
I now have to renew this licence, and pay the fees every year. The only thing I get from these fees is the ability to "keep working legally within the city of Kitchener" πŸ˜’

But it's done. I passed (with flying colours I might add). And now I can refocus and get back to really doing what I love.

Thank you as always to my clients, but also to my grooming friends, my closest support system besties, and my partner and kiddos. They have had to deal with me being truly awful the last few weeks while this was hanging over my head. I could not do any of this without even one part of my tribe.

In case the groomer who reported me to the city ever reads this....Thanks friend. Now I'm even more legit πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

I appreciate all of you.
See some of you in Buffalo this Saturday, and a bunch more of you in Mississauga on Easter weekend! If you are interested, come watch Roni and I compete at the Pet Expo on Sunday morning.

Keep your head up. Good things come to the ones who deserve it πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Happy 3rd birthday to this di*******ry.
He drives me absolutely bonkers, and boy do I wish parts of his coat were much more dense to compete with.

But, overall he's a phenomenal dog. He's gentle and polite, but also crazy and forces me to walk even when I really don't wanna.

He's helping me learn to believe in myself and have confidence in my grooming abilities, while also teaching me to use what I've been given and find ways to succeed.

I love him to bits and he's kind of obsessed with me 🀣

The end of 2025 brought some family issues, so please be patient with me as I navigate things. I may have to take extra days off to be where I am needed, but I will do my best to keep making lots of time for my dogs. I am getting faster so I am going to try to get more dogs done each day as I can.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in me. I really really love your dogs πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Happy New Year friends πŸŽ‰

This year has been rough. For myself and a lot of people.

This month has been especially hectic and I forgot to put out my collection bin for the food bank.

I will still be taking down what I can. If you have anything you can/want to donate, feel free to drop it off and I will take it all down next week.

Every donation gets a chance to win $25 off your next groom.

I don't have a lot to give this year. But there are so many who have much much less.
If I can help someone have a better day than they did yesterday, that's a win.

I am so grateful for my clients. Every single day I'm thankful.

Message me if you need more info.
Be kind to the people in retail.
Be kind to each other.
Be thankful.

She's fine, I promise. Miss Layla goes against every single husky stereotype that exists.
She loves the process. Lies down and lets me dry her with no issue. Great for her nails.
She's a unicorn.

Credit to ._.71 for this lovely girl. She makes my day when I get to groom her.

What a weekend.
5am on Friday was a lot of hours ago.

This weekend was the inaugural . , .bongelli and Grant put on an amazing show.

I competed in both rookie rumble competitions. Friday I groomed Umber, with mentors and and judges and .petstylist

I knew going in that I didn't have enough hair, but I learned a lot about how to help with creating a longer neck and where to emphasize his body to make it stand out. I'm excited to grow him out and see what we can do.

Saturday was number 2 with mentors Nadia and and judges Lindsey Dickens and and Roni.

I knew going in that I had too much hair. I used .grooming to prep him and really liked the feel. I haven't done enough training with him and he was out of practice and I let myself get frustrated and overwhelmed (0% shocked πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ). I struggle with his hair in certain places and I want to badly to be successful with him.
I am overly hard on myself and it's easier to blame him and his hair and his behaviour than to take accountability for not spending enough time working on training and getting him to not be so ticklish.
I'm asking a lot of him and of myself for someone who has never had a dog before (of her own) and has only been competing for a year and a half.
But I didn't quit. I keep showing up. I want to get better. And figure it out with him. Someday I want to win a ribbon with him.
I'll get there. He's an amazing dog and I am so grateful for him, even when I don't know how to express it. He teaches me to be better everyday.

Sunday was Tag Team, with my partner and judged by and

We used miss Rosie, and had a Celestial Scissors/witchy theme with stars, suns, moons, crystals, personalized tarot cards and horoscopes and even matching water cups.
We took home 1st place!!!
My very first ribbon πŸ’œπŸ’œ
I'm really proud of us and our work and it makes me want to work even harder to get an individual ribbon.

I had an amazing weekend.
Incredible show. Many friends. So thankful.

The clocks changed last night.
Which means it's going to get dark heckin early now.
Roni is a chicken at night, but he's all black.
He gets a light on his collar and the bright leash.
I wear my bright hat and if we are going to be out anytime near sunset and dark, I wear a reflective strap or a construction type reflective vest.

Cars can't see you.
They can't see your dog.
Put lights on.
Wear your reflective gear.
Be bright. Be seen. Be secure.

Wear your anti-social dog moms club sweatshirt so people give you space when you've had a day (love you Blue Jays, but so sad).

Stay safe and bright friends. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Dearest friends and clients, a good groomer friend is up for best in her area. I can absolutely confidently say she's incredible and would love if you could show her some support.

Go to the original radio station's page and leave a ❀️ react on their post.
She's only 15 behind and it ends at noon.

Please show Sarah some love.
Thank you!

Damn proud of this one!

He looks amazing if I do say so myself. I know a few tweaks I have to make, but overall I'm extremely pleased with his final look.

Without a doubt, our best showing ever.

Yay me!

This is why I keep competing. Why I take the lessons and the courses and spend the money and time. Not only do I love it, but it makes me better. For the competition ring, but also for my everyday grooms. They've gotten better since I started competing. Faster, nicer, a better experience for the dogs.

That's what brings me joy. Doing the best I can on my everyday dogs.

I am. So grateful that I get to do it everyday.
Thank you to my clients as usual for being accommodating and understanding when I take days off to go to these shows. They mean so much to me and I bring back all the knowledge I can to share and use πŸ’œ

Thank you to ATQ and the organizers for a great show and massive congrats to all my friends for their placements.
