One of our staff have returned to school and we are slowly starting the search of the right candidate. We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Stable Groom to join our team.
We are a boutique equestrian facility offering A-circuitβlevel schooling and training, alongside a competitive Silver and Gold hunter/jumper program led by registered and licensed coaches.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, hardworking individual who shares our commitment to exceptional horse care, professionalism, and attention to detail.
β‘οΈ POSITION DETAILS
Position: Part-Time Stable GroomHours: 10β18 hours per week initially, with potential for full-time employment.
Compensation: $19.50β$30.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
β‘οΈ Available Shifts:
Short AM: 6:00β10:00 AM
Long AM: 6:00 AMβ2:00 PM
Saturdays: 5:30 AM start
Weekday, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
Opportunities to accompany our Silver and Gold show teams may also be available.
β‘οΈ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Feeding, mucking, turnout, and blanketing
- Grooming, tacking up, and untacking horses
- Lunging and hand-walking
- Trotting horses out for lameness exams
- Monitoring equine health, taking vital signs, and providing basic first aid
- Assisting veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals
- Maintaining facility cleanliness, organization, and safety
- General stable upkeep and light maintenance
Assisting with horse care at competitions when/if required.
QUALIFICATIONS
β Minimum 2 years of professional equine experience.
β Strong horse-handling and stable management skills.
β Must be competent in taking and assessing equine vital signs (temperature, pulse, and respiration).
β Knowledge of equine first aid and recognizing signs of illness or injury.
β Reliable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented.
β Able to work independently and as part of a team.
β Physically capable of performing stable duties.
β Reliable transportation and able to work in all types of weather.
*οΈβ£ Competitive hunter/jumper experience is an asset.
