Introducing Little Lucky! 🐶❤
Lucky presented to us for vomiting, diarrhea and not eating.
She became hypoglycemic very quickly because of her size and age which is life threatening. Puppies have immature livers, rapid metabolisms, and very limited body fat, they cannot store or manufacture enough glucose to survive without frequent eating. Anorexia lasting even 24 hours or less can deplete their entire sugar supply and cause rapid neurological collapse. Lucky stayed with us in hospital on IV fluids and supportive treatments before going home to her loving family. We wish her a speedy recovery. We captured some adorable photos of her.
Side note: Lucky was howling while in her kennel and would only be calm if someone was near, or holding her. The second photo is her taking a nap in Tenishas lap and the third she is getting kisses from Meg ❤❤

Its Latin American Heritage Month!
A month designated by the Parliament of Canada in 2018. It is an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions that members of the Latin American community have made to the fabric of Canada. This month allows us to celebrate our Latin American heritages with all Defence Team members. Today, we raise our voices in celebration and reflection about the impactful contributions members of the Latin American community have made and continue to make sharing their cultures, perspectives and proud traditions as members of the Defence Team and as Canadians.
