🖤 October is National Black Cat Month! 🖤🐈
Black cats have gotten a pretty unfair reputation over the years. Their beautiful dark coats have been tied to witches, superstition and “bad luck” for centuries, when in reality, they're just tiny house panthers who are every bit as loving, goofy, playful and wonderful as any other cat. 🖤
Because of these long-standing superstitions, some rescues and shelters may even pause black cat adoptions around Halloween. While the spooky season is fun, it’s also a good reminder that these myths can still have an impact on how black cats are viewed.
So this October, let's celebrate our black cats for what they really are: absolutely adorable little companions who deserve all the love, treats, cuddles and attention. 🥰
Whether they're elegant little panthers, professional lap warmers, midnight zoomers or the kind of cat who disappears into the shadows until dinner time… we're pretty lucky to have them. ✨
Tag us in your photos this month or share a picture of your little house panther in the comments! We want to see them! 🐈📸
