A big thank you to Ren’s Pets – Downsview customers and staff for their recent food drive donation. Thanks to their generosity, Paws Above Rescue received around 150 cans of dog food, as well as cookies, kibble, and food toppers.

Donations like these help us provide for dogs in foster care and allow us to focus funds on vital medical care and vetting. We’re so grateful for your kindness and ongoing support!

Okay guys, this one is kind of a big deal. Our sweet little man Theo officially has a family of his own. We want to thank each and every one of you that made this possible.

Back in February, a family reached out wanting to surrender their newly acquired bernedoodle. They had purchased him from a "breeder". When he was found to have serious orthopedic issues, grade 4 out of 4 luxating patellas on both back legs, this "breeder's" solution was euthanasia. We quickly decided that wasn't happening and thanks to the generosity of all of you and a few special people that contributed greatly with some fundraising, his surgery was fully funded. We are very grateful to Dr John at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital for working with us and performing Theo’s life changing surgery.

To Theo’s new family, thank you for giving this boy a chance. Thank you also for teaching your young family about rescue and empathy. This warms our hearts and gives us hope for the future.

Last but certainly not least, thank you to Sandra, Dave and sons for being his foster family and for having the strength to let him go!

Enjoy your wonderful, new, soon to be pain free life Theo!! We can't wait for updates ❤️

We are a little behind with our adoption announcements! Our sweet girl Angela is now known as Lily and she has been very busy keeping her new pawrents on their toes 😉

Ember is available to adopt!
She is a curious, happy 5 month old puppy that has made great progress since she joined our rescue. Although shy at first meeting new people, she slowly gains confidence and playfulness. She loves other dogs and has been very easy to care for. She has already been spayed and is both crate trained and house trained. She will do well in a home with another dog, with children or as a single dog in a home. Please fill out an application here if you would like to meet Ember
