Your new pet’s first wellness exam is important to make sure they’re healthy and to establish a personalized plan for vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, and ongoing care. Early visits also help us catch any hidden health concerns.

♥️Start with a healthy smile! 🦷
For puppies, this is a great time to start getting them comfortable with dental care and regular mouth checks.
For adopted pets, a dental and overall health assessment is especially important, as their previous medical and dental history may be unknown. Get them addressed early on 🦷 Dental disease can contribute and worsen other diseases!

💝Give them time to adjust. 🏡
A new home is a BIG change! Your new pet may need some time to feel comfortable. Stress can affect appetite, behavior, and overall well-being, so be patient and let them adjust at their own pace.

💚Don’t suddenly change their food! 🍽️
A sudden diet change can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and other GI upset. If you’re switching foods, make the transition gradually over several days.

🐾🩺🐾The air outside isn’t just affecting us—it can affect our pets too.

🐾 During periods of poor air quality:
• Keep walks short and avoid strenuous exercise.
• Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
• Make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water.
• Keep windows closed if the air is smoky or hazy.
• Watch for signs such as coughing, sneezing, difficulty breathing, excessive panting, lethargy, or eye irritation.

Pets with heart or lung disease, senior pets, puppies, and kittens are especially vulnerable.

If your pet is having trouble breathing or seems unwell, contact your veterinarian promptly.

Stay safe, stay inside when you can, and help keep your furry family members protected. ❤️🐶🐱
