This family is incomplete.

TNR isn’t always black and white (although, in this case, the subjects are).

Our team has been out morning, day and night, trying to secure the remaining members of this family. We’ve been pulling out all the tricks. Sardines, videos of mama cats calling their kittens, even bringing a sibling back to the location in hopes of coaxing the others out.

But this week has been heavy. There’s sadness in knowing there are still little lives out there, not yet safe and warm. It’s hard to walk away knowing you’ve done everything you can, but it still doesn’t feel like enough.

Sometimes, in rescue, it’s easy to focus on the ones you haven’t been able to save rather than the ones you have.

These lives have changed for the better. The cycle has ended and we have prevented further suffering from happening.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who recognizes the time, resources and effort that go into rescue. Sometimes, a little reminder that our efforts are making a difference means more than you know. 💝

Dear Universe, please keep this weather going a little longer. ☀️

Mary lives for her balcony fresh air and sunbathing time. ❤️

After everything this little lady has been through, it’s the simple pleasures that make her happiest. Wet food on demand, her comfy bed, a cozy little cat tree nook and a collection of balls she LOVES chasing around the room. She’s also quite fond of asking for pets and being gently brushed.

When Mary was found, she was terribly sick, emaciated and in desperate need of care. Despite efforts to find her family, no one came forward. We don’t know how long she had been on her own, but we’re so grateful she was found when she was.

Mary has come a long way since then, although her road to recovery hasn’t been easy. She’s currently on her fourth round of antibiotics as we work to get her persistent respiratory illness under control. She also needs a dental, which will have to wait until she’s feeling a little healthier.

Through it all, Mary continues to find joy in the little things, and we’re hoping the universe grants her a few more warm, sunny days to enjoy.

After all, how could the universe turn down a request from this cute little snub-tailed loaf?

Introducing the Pumpkin Patch litter! 🎃

Max and Mini comes through with the PURRfect names once again!

We brought these four little ones into care last week, and they are now settling into their foster home. We have already brought two other kittens into care from the same property and have fixed 13 cats and older kittens, with another half a dozen or so still to TNR. Stay tuned for their glow/grow up pictures!

Today, I had to make a decision I never should have had to make.

Fiona and Shrek have been reunited over the rainbow bridge. 🌈💔

Fiona and I fought so hard. We gave it truly everything we had. Before we said goodbye, she enjoyed a sunbath and a little frolic through the plants. Then, with her paws in my hand, she peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge.

Right now, I’m overseeing the care of 32 kittens, with another 18+ waiting to come into rescue. That number would be even higher, but at least 10 kittens have already been killed by coyotes and other predators before we could help them.

It’s time to spay and neuter.

It’s time to donate to spay and neuter initiatives.

It’s time to care.

Because no kitten should have to fight this hard just to survive, and no one should have to make the decision I made today.
