Unfortunately, we’ve had a few recent incidents involving aggressive or disrespectful behaviour toward our staff. Because of this, we want to remind both our clients and non-clients that we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for aggressive, threatening, abusive, or disrespectful behaviour toward our team.

Our team deserves to feel safe and respected while doing their jobs.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Shelby Fillmore to the Cornwallis Veterinarian team .

Dr. Shelby Fillmore grew up near the ocean in St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia. She has had a love and passion for caring for animals since she was young, and has dreamed of becoming a vet for as long as she can remember.

After completing her BSc. in Animal Science at Dalhousie University she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College on PEI. Throughout her studies Dr. Fillmore has worked on a number of farms and veterinary clinics within the Maritimes. She has a special interest in internal medicine, anesthesiology, patient comfort as well as integrative medicine and is currently working towards her Veterinary Acupuncture Certification.

Dr. Fillmore recently moved to the Valley, and will be joining Cornwallis Veterinarians as a companion animal vet.

Earlier today a good samaritan brought in a deceased cat that was hit by a car to our Kentville Clinic. He was a short haired orange intact male found around the area of 134 Main Street Kentville. Please call our office next week if you believe it could be your cat. We are sorry for anyone affected by this.

To all our clients,

We continue to see a high percentage of positive Lyme and Anaplasma results through our 4Dx screening clinics. This highlights just how prevalent tick-borne diseases are in our area and reinforces the importance of year-round tick prevention.

Due to the high demand, we are offering two new 4Dx Screening Clinic dates:

📍 Windsor Clinic: July 17
📍 Kentville Clinic: July 30

A 4Dx Test is an in-house blood test that screens for:
✔️ Lyme Disease
✔️ Anaplasma
✔️ Ehrlichia
✔️ Heartworm

Eligibility: Your dog must have been examined by one of our veterinarians at Cornwallis Vets within the last year to participate.

Domestic short haired black and white, male intact, no tattoo or microchip.
