📢 Vacation Notice 📢

Pawsitive Pawrents will be taking a short break from June 1st to June 8th. We will be back to our regular schedule on June 9th.

While we're away, I will still be checking and responding to emails once per day, so please expect a slightly longer response time than usual.

If you have something urgent or time-sensitive, please send me a text message and I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Pups & Pinot is happening May 30th and it’s going to be such a fun, relaxed day for both you and your dog.

Messages may be a little slower than usual and I won’t be taking on anything new in the home during this time. If you’ve already booked in training with me, you’re all set and I’ll still be in touch as needed.

Cooperative care helps everyone feel comfortable.

I could have just made him take his meds, which he doesn't like.

OR

We could work on him wanting to. I asked a few times because I was giving him the choice. He said "not yet" a few times. When he was ready he took it zero issues.

Does he enjoy this? No. Is it uncomfortable? Yep! But now that we've worked on it, it's stress free.

Why do I post the dogs relaxed and playing quietly inside more than outside and walking? They do go outside and run and play ofc.

I do this because so many people struggle with getting their dogs to settle untethered. A lot of trainers recommend tying them to something and forcing them to enter learned helplessness. That's not relaxed.

We don't allow the dog to get frustrated and "figure it out" this includes puppies, working dogs, high drive with no off switch.

We want dogs relaxed everywhere, not just on a cot, on a leash, in a crate. Otherwise they struggle when not in those situations.

I've added a video of a dog on a tether. Do I use them 100% but not to force "relaxation"
