Late-summer allergies can affect our pets too. 🌿🐾 With ragweed season in Kelowna, you may notice your pet scratching, licking their paws, rubbing their face, or developing irritated skin more than usual.

Allergies aren’t always food-related, and identifying the trigger can help your pet get the right care and relief.

Is your pet scratching more than usual? Contact McCurdy Animal Hospital to discuss their symptoms and find the best next steps.

Back-to-school season is a big adjustment for pets, too. 🎒🐾 After a summer of extra family time, a quieter home and a new daily schedule can leave some pets feeling unsettled.

A predictable routine can help your dog or cat feel more secure. Try keeping mealtimes, walks, playtime, and rest periods as consistent as possible while everyone settles into the new schedule. ❤️

Helping your pet adjust to the back-to-school routine? Reach out to McCurdy Animal Hospital with any concerns about their behaviour or wellbeing.

August is the perfect time to check in on your pet’s health before fall arrives. 🐾🍂 A wellness visit gives us a chance to look beyond the obvious and make sure your pet is feeling their best from nose to tail.

A routine check can help assess their weight, mobility, overall health, and preventive care needs, while also giving you an opportunity to discuss any changes you may have noticed at home.

A little proactive care now can help set your pet up for a healthier, happier season ahead. ❤️

Don’t wait for a concern to become a problem.
📞 Contact McCurdy Animal Hospital at +1 (778) 484-9446 to schedule your pet’s wellness check.

Today is National Check the Chip Day🐾 a perfect reminder to make sure your pet’s microchip information is still accurate and up to date.

A microchip can help reunite a lost pet with their family, but only if the registration details are current. Take a few minutes to check your phone number, address, and emergency contact information. 🐶🐱

Not sure whether your pet’s microchip details are current? Contact McCurdy Animal Hospital and let’s make sure their information is ready when it matters most. 💙

Saturday market trips are even better with a happy, well-prepared pup! 🐶🛍️ If you’re bringing your dog to the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market, remember that busy crowds, warm pavement, food, and unfamiliar surroundings can be a lot to take in.

Keep your dog leashed, give them space from other shoppers and pets, bring water, and watch their body language. If they seem overwhelmed, a quiet break or staying home may be the best choice. 🐾

Planning a market day with your dog? Save this checklist and share it with a Kelowna pet parent before Saturday! 💙

Heading to the Okanagan Guitar Festival this weekend? 🎸🐾
If your pet is staying home, a little preparation can help them feel comfortable while you’re away. Keep meals and routines consistent, leave a familiar enrichment activity, and close windows to help reduce outside noise.

A calm, familiar environment can make time apart easier for your furry friend. ❤️

The long weekend may be over, but your pet could still be recovering from all the excitement. 🐾💙

After hikes, road trips, beach days, or backyard adventures, take a few minutes to give your pet a quick health check. Look for ticks, cuts, sore paw pads, or anything unusual. Make sure they're drinking plenty of water, eating normally, and getting the rest they need after a busy few days.

A little post-adventure care can help your pet bounce back and stay healthy.

How did your pet spend the long weekend?
Share your adventures in the comments, save this post as a reminder, and contact McCurdy Animal Hospital if you notice anything that doesn't seem quite right.

Planning to bring your dog to NESTFEST? 🎶🐾 A little preparation can make the day more enjoyable for both of you.

Before heading out, make sure your dog is comfortable around crowds and loud sounds. Bring plenty of fresh water, keep them on a secure leash, take breaks in shaded areas, and watch for signs of stress or overheating. Not every dog enjoys busy events, and that's okay, sometimes the best plan is letting them relax safely at home.

A little planning goes a long way toward a fun and safe festival experience.

Are you and your pup attending NESTFEST?
Save this post for your festival checklist, share it with fellow dog parents, and contact McCurdy Animal Hospital if you have any questions about keeping your pet healthy and safe this summer.
