Farmer Mama Photodump πΈ Edition! π©πΎβπΎπͺπ§ππͺ
Present & Throwback: The post I made on my personal rafting page https://www.facebook.com/share/18pHqbmXG1/ this last Wednesday-Women's Work Wednesday
π
Todayβs highlights: my daughter decided to dress up as me for her school's "Dress Up Day"β flannel, jeans, and all β and yes, she nailed the Farmer Mama look! π§π
Being a woman in a manβs field isnβt new β first it was rafting, now itβs farming, all while raising five humans πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ and occasionally refereeing people who still ask to βspeak to the man of the farm.β π
Yesterday at school pickup my first born daughter goes, βMom, letβs go shopping for dress-up day!β I ask, βOkay, what are you going as?β and she says, βYou.β Cue instant tears π₯Ήπ β my little girl wants to be Farmer Mama.
It really hit me β our kids are watching everything we do. Whether youβre kayaking π, garlic-dealing ππ§, or just surviving parenthood, little eyes are learning from us!
Being a woman of color in agriculture in Canada π¨π¦ isnβt something you see every day β and seeing my daughter inspired by me reminds me that what Iβm growing isnβt just crops β itβs confidence, courage, and future leaders. π±β¨
Farming, like rafting and kayaking , is chaotic, hilarious, and challenging β and yes, absolutely a sport. ππ Today my daughter is officially training to join the extreme agriculture league!
Hereβs to all women breaking barriers, showing up in male-dominated spaces, and inspiring the next generation. πͺπΎπ
