A big GWK welcome to Caitlin Dika of Calgary, AB Dee Dee's new mom who is joining her this Saturday. I look forward to see their many adventures with their furry pal walking group and her new BFF 2 days a week while mom is at work and their many hikes and adventures. She also has extended family in the Grand Cache area so she will still be enjoying the mountains and valleys as well as farm life when she visits her new extended family. I am super happy that she has her forever home and new mom to share her world with.

❤️🐾 TWO LITTLE PUPPIES. TWO FOREVER HOMES. ONE BEAUTIFUL ENDING! 🐾❤️

LIBBY & COCOA HAVE BOTH FOUND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES! 🎉

And just like that… another chapter of GWK Sport Retrievers comes to a close. ❤️

Our beautiful little chocolate boy, Cocoa, and sweet red/chocolate girl, Libby, have officially found their new families!

It's always bittersweet watching our puppies leave the nest. We spend weeks watching their little personalities develop, celebrating their milestones and wondering who will be lucky enough to share their lives with them.

And this time, there's something extra special about their placements.

🌸 LIBBY IS STAYING IN THE FRENCH CREEK RV FAMILY! 🌸

Our tiny little cuddle bug has been welcomed into the home of one of our French Creek RV seasonal camping families!

That means we'll have the wonderful opportunity to watch Libby grow up and enjoy summers at French Creek RV!

Imagine all the adventures ahead — country walks, exploring the campground, relaxing with her family and discovering everything summer has to offer.

We couldn't be happier knowing she'll be spending her summers so close to us! ❤️

🐾 AND COCOA HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER FAMILY, TOO!

Our playful, curious little watchman has found his special people!

With his beautiful blue eyes and adventurous personality, we're excited for all the memories he'll make as he grows into a wonderful family companion.

❤️ THE END OF AN ERA — AND THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING NEW!

These were the final two puppies from our original GWK Sport Retrievers breeding lineage.

Since establishing our Canadian breeding program in 2009, we've had the privilege of helping so many wonderful families welcome our dogs into their lives.

Some of our families have returned for their second companions. Others have stayed connected with us for years, sharing photographs, milestones and memories.

And some are still waiting for just the right time to welcome another GWK dog into their home.

We appreciate every one of you. ❤️

🐶 SO WHAT'S NEXT FOR GWK SPORT RETRIEVERS?

We're planning to return to our purebred Cocker Spaniel breeding lines in approximately two years!

While we won't be producing any more puppies from this particular lineage, this isn't goodbye to GWK Sport Retrievers.

It's simply the beginning of our next chapter.

We invite our longtime families and new followers to stay connected with our page as we share updates and future breeding plans.

❤️ TO LIBBY & COCOA'S NEW FAMILIES…

Thank you for opening your hearts and homes to these two beautiful puppies.

We wish you years of love, laughter, muddy paws, cuddles and unforgettable adventures!

And to everyone who followed their journey, shared our posts, asked questions or expressed interest — thank you!

Our puppies may leave our home, but they'll always be part of the GWK family. ❤️🐾

With love,

Shelley

From a friend Margaret Livingston I always suggest to my families to plan when they get their pup to decide what they consider budget wise is the most theybwill pay for vet services provided their pets quality of life and health remain the same or better after the service. Typically i suggest no more than double to triple the initial value of purchase. But regarding pet insurance i suggest putting the money in a investment fund vs pet insurance. Hete is margaret's comment regarding insurance.

A friend asked if pet insurance is good. Here is my results. For Ole and Roki from age 7 ; the premiums were $240/ month which is $2880 a year. Over 15 years I have paid $43,2000 in premiums. Eye opener.

Tallied what was claimed and what was paid out and number of zero payments. Insurance was with Pet Secure Level 3.
1) Bailey 7 year old Golden retriever from 2004 to 2011. Submitted to pet secure: $9862.57 and payment was $6262.25 with 4 claims zero payments. $300 deductible. Deceased September 2011
2) Ole 17 year old Icelandic sheepdog. 2009 to 2026. Deceased in January 2026. Submitted: $12, 646.28 and payment was $4370.42 with 8 claims zero payments.Annual Deductible was $500 from age 7.
3) Roki 15 year old Icelandic sheepdog 2011 to 2026 and quit insurance July 2026. Submitted : $5919.87 and payment was $1334.58 and 10 claims with zero payment. Annual deductible is $500. Dog is alive.

❤️ THE END OF AN ERA AT GWK SPORT RETRIEVERS ❤️

After so many wonderful years of raising puppies and welcoming families into our GWK community, we're preparing to close a very special chapter.

🐾 LIBBY & COCOA ARE THE FINAL TWO PUPPIES FROM OUR ORIGINAL GWK BREEDING LINEAGE.

There will be no further litters from this original family line.

Their mom, Dee Dee, is retiring from our breeding program and will be joining a loving forever home where she can enjoy life as someone's devoted companion.

For those of you who have followed our journey since we established our Canadian breeding program in 2009, you know how special these dogs have been to us and to the families who have welcomed them into their homes.

❤️ WHAT'S NEXT FOR GWK?

We're planning to return to full Cocker Spaniel breeding lines in approximately two years, beginning a new chapter for our program.

But for now, Libby and Cocoa represent the final opportunity to welcome a puppy from our original lineage.

❤️ MEET OUR FINAL TWO!

LIBBY — Our beautiful red/chocolate girl with blue-grey eyes, a gentle personality and an absolute love of cuddling.

COCOA — Our handsome dark chocolate boy with blue eyes, a playful spirit and a curious little personality.

Both puppies are Golden Retriever × Cocker Spaniel × Moyen Poodle, with smooth, shorter coats and an estimated adult weight of 25–40 lbs.

🐾 KELOWNA PICKUP — OCTOBER 31

$2,050 EACH — FULL VETERINARY PACKAGE

First vaccinations, deworming and scheduled spay/neuter included, subject to veterinary clearance.

As always, our puppies come with lifetime breeder support.

If you've been thinking about welcoming another GWK companion into your family, this is a special opportunity.

And if the timing isn't right for you, we'd be grateful if you shared this with someone who would provide a wonderful forever home.

❤️ Some bloodlines leave paw prints across generations. Libby and Cocoa are the final little paw prints of this chapter.

I am still searching for my family and life with sisters well let me tell you this guy gets his fair share if tail pulling and ear pulls but I am learning to growl, yip and tell them to back off just wait till i get some body weight. Paws crossed as my two sisters tuna and dojie are out body massing me from the milk truck. This morning i taught them a lesson by peeing in the water dish haha take that sisters. I am the smartest grandma says as I talk when spoken to and listen too. I think its because im the only boy. Please share as i would love to find my forever family.
