Furever Home Friday Update on James - Now Aspen!

'Aspen is doing amazing! In just 1 week he has shown me how playful, cuddly, sweet and vocal he is. He has not been stalking my older boy and they seem to be warming up to each other nicely. He spends most of his time in tow of me playing with all his toys, getting all the snuggles and watching out the window.

Thanks for trusting me with this little fella, he has stolen my heart and I’m so happy he’s home with me now'.

I was found wandering alone in a neighborhood on Westview Place in West Kelowna.

A Good Samaritan brought me to the SPCA, where I am now safe, but I’m very scared and confused. I am an intact male approximately 4 years old, and I don’t have any identification to help find my way home.

Even though I’m frightened, I’m a very sweet boy. Someone out there must be missing me, and I really want to go home.

If you recognize me, or know where my family is, please call the Kelowna SPCA at (250) 861-7722 and press option 5.

***proof of ownership is required to claim me***

Hi everyone!
My name is Hilda, and I’m a 6 month old German Shepherd girl with big ears and an even bigger heart!

I have tons of energy and would love an active family who can play with me, take me on adventures, and help me grow into the amazing dog I know I can be. I’m sweet, curious, and I love people! I’m dreaming of a forever home where I can feel safe, get belly rubs, and be your loyal best friend.

If you would like to meet me, come to the Kelowna SPCA, Tuesday to Saturday from 12-4pm!

Walk ins are prioritized.

🐾 HELP NEEDED! It’s Puppy Palooza at the Kelowna BC SPCA! 🐾

Our centre is currently caring for 19 adorable puppies from two different litters. While both moms are doing their best, they need a helping paw keeping up with their large families! ❤️

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, these little ones are receiving supplemental bottle feedings, socialization, and lots of love to help them grow into happy, healthy puppies.

We're reaching out to our community for support. We have created an Amazon wish list and are especially in need of:

🍼 Puppy Milk Replacement (PMR)
🧸 Puppy toys of all shapes, sizes, textures, and materials

Exposure to different toys and textures helps puppies build confidence, develop important skills, and learn that new experiences are fun and exciting.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference for these growing pups. Thank you for helping us give them the best possible start in life! 🐶💙

📦 Check out our Amazon wish list here: https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/3NCME8UJAWJIP?ref_=wl_share

💳 - gift cards are also helpful so we can buy what we need

🏠 - In person donations can be dropped off 7 days a week from 8am - 4pm

🐾 Please note: These puppies are not currently available for adoption as they are still too young. They have lots of growing to do before they are ready to find their forever homes. Keep an eye on our website and social media for updates—when they are ready for adoption, we have a feeling they will find homes very quickly! ❤️

WOW!!

Claro Learning centre stopped by to donate $254.00 to the animals!
They raised the money through their hot lunch program at their learning centre!!

What an amazing gift this was to the animals!
Thank you so much for the thoughtfulness for these amazing, resilient animals!

Max (One of our adorable adoptable cats!) gave them a big thank you, with some kuranda pets to boot!💕🐱

To conquer loose-leash walking, we need to take it one step at a time, and the very first one is the equipment you use.

Maren Bruun of Paw In Hand shares these three essentials to enjoying a loose-leash walk with your dog.

1️⃣Well-fitted harness: that is comfortable for the dog to wear.
2️⃣Long leash: Remember that it is important that you can safely and effectively handle it.
3️⃣Treat pouch with lots of treats: because there are plenty of things that compete for your attention!

We talk all about loose-leash walking at https://animalkind.ca/all-about-leash-walking/

Furever Home Friday update from Cher! Yay!

'Within HOURS of coming home she warmed up and started feeling at home. Over the last couple of weeks her spay incision has healed extremely well with no issues, and she has acclimated perfectly to our home!

She is everything we could have asked for in a cat and we could not be happier! '
