So many of you may not know but our very own Mel is quite the guy. When he’s not working his regular job or in the daycare and on the farm doing all the many things that needs to get done behind the scenes to keep this place running, he rescues cats! This was his most recent rescue and it made castanet! He had hoped the mom would come back to them but made sure to keep the kittens in a space that was safe and somewhat warm, checked on them in the morning so they could be safely delivered to ohs! The goal for kittens this young is to be reunited with their mom, he is working on catching her so that reunion can happen but unfortunately sometimes moms get scared off and if they don’t come back in a timely manner the kittens won’t survive so humans have to step in. The amount of stray cats in Kelowna is wild but with every stray cat caught their fixed which makes a huge difference! So kudos to Mel and his never wavering love of animals🙏👌

It’s been a rough one on the farm this week. We lost petey(scorge). I’ve never lost an animal in this way and I’m devastated. Here’s some photos to honour him he was truly a soul cat. I also want those who have Murphy beds to take extra care when folding them up. I didn’t notice petey was under it and I don’t want anyone else to experience this. Take a look before you fold the bed up. I wish more than anything I had.

This also goes for lazy boys, futons or anything that folds, cats are sneaky, I’ve talked to my friends who took Pete in immediately Pawsitive Veterinary Care - Kelowna, BC and they’ve had similar instances with lazy boys. With the holiday season approaching everyone should take that extra minute to look.

I also have to commend pawsitive in the way the handled the situation. I was a wreck couldn’t drive so Mel stepped in and took him-I told him to go to pawsitive before I had even called them. I called in and he was immediately taken back. Iv worked with the team at pawsitive along my career in pet care and the heart they have is incredible. I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to deal with this situation and I’m thankful they were there because I was an absolute mess. So thank you ladies for your immediate action and care when the worst was realized. It made a horrible situation bearable.

One of my favourite little beans! Ordered a harness for my cat and it just so happened to fit ollie! He looks like a little army man. So blessed to watch this little man grow ❤️

I guess this is a good time to announce I’m back! This time has been nothing short of amazing and tough. I took time away to heal my heart and process grief. I never imagined how much this community would come together in support, but I am so proud and thankful to be apart of it. The team has decided to stay on he has loved his time with the dogs and dare I say it but they can read them almost better then I can👌 thank you so much to everyone in this community who supported and understood why I took some time. Things will be a bit different here in pack as my team will also be in the daycare so I have more balance but I am here and will be greeting everyone and in the daycare as normal but sometimes you may just see the boys as I will be doing a better job of keeping on top of paperwork! In regards to this amazing surprise- Please send a vote our way if you believe in the style and type of daycare we provide! As always thank you pack for your support and love, can’t wait to see everyone back in pack!
