After 63 years of service, Central Animal Hospital closes its doors today, August 13th, 2026. ❤️
It's hard to put into words what these six decades have meant. Since 1963, this little clinic has been part of so many lives - and not just the lives of the pets we cared for, but the people and families who loved them. There have been puppy kisses and kitten purrs, happy tail wags and hard goodbyes. There have been first visits, routine checkups, unexpected emergencies, celebrations, tears, laughter and countless stories shared with us over the years. Generations of families have walked through these doors, sometimes returning with their own children and grandchildren.
We've watched pets grow into cherished members of families and first-time clients become old friends. We've shared in the joy of new beginnings and stood beside owners during some of their most difficult moments, every one having left a mark on us. Of course, the clinic wouldn't have been what it was without the people - the veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, assistants, volunteers and countless others who have given their time, energy, compassion, and hearts to this place. Central Animal Hospital was never simply just a building. It was the people, the patients and the community that made it what it was.
As we look back at these 63 years, we are reminded just how incredibly fortunate we've been. Fortunate to have been trusted with your animals, to have met so many wonderful people and to have been part of the North Kamloops community for multiple generations. To everyone who's ever brought us a beloved pet, shared a story, sent a card, offered a kind word or simply walked through our doors, thank you. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for letting us care for your family members. Thank you for the memories.
Today is goodbye, but it's also a celebration of everything Central Animal Hospital has been for six decades, so as we turn the final page of this chapter, we do so with full hearts and tremendous gratitude.
