Happy National Seniors Day! Today marks the day of ElderDog's campaign, “One Gift. Two Lives.”

With the rising cost of living, demand for our services has grown, and so has the cost of providing them. Our goal is to raise $50,000. Thanks to generous donors like you, we’ve already raised $13,000—enough to provide more than 100 dogs with prescription medication. Including dogs like Hardy.

Hardy lost his human companion when they moved into long-term care. When Elaine, who had been longing for a canine companion, learned about Hardy, she was immediately smitten. But his complex health conditions were more than she could afford on a fixed income. Knowing they were a perfect match, ElderDog stepped in to cover Hardy’s ongoing medical care so Elaine and Hardy could enjoy their special bond without fear or worry.

In honour of National Seniors Day, please consider giving ONE GIFT and impacting TWO LIVES—an older adult and their dog.

Honoring the survivors, remembering the children who never made it home, and standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities across the country. Reconciliation starts with truth.

One gift. Two lives.

Your gift has double impact. It helps provide the care dogs need while supporting the bonds between older adults and their dogs.

As National Seniors Day approaches on October 1, we’re thinking about the more than half of older Canadians who report feeling lonely.

For older adults, dogs are more than “just a pet.” They are often described as a person’s “best friend.” This special bond has been proven to alleviate loneliness and provide social, emotional and physical benefits as well.

As the cost of living increases, ElderDog has experienced an increase in requests for services as well as increased costs associated with providing those services.

Your gift helps provide essential care for dogs in our programs so they can continue bringing companionship and connection to older adults.

Give a gift and impact two lives today!

One person came make a big difference. That one person could be you!
Bonnie’s senior human companions were in a bind. She is too big for her mom to walk, and her dad had surgery and couldn’t walk her for a few months.
Bonnie needs her exercise and was very sad, until an ElderDog Canada Kamloops PAWD volunteer, saw a post on our page and became her walker.
Bonnie is happy and getting the outdoor time she needs, and her dad can focus on his recovery, stress free.
You can make a real different in the life of a dog and its senior companion. Contact us today! Elderdog.ca
