Happy Labour Day Weekend!

A friendly reminder that Alcona Animal Hospital will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labour Day.

🐾 Please remember to call ahead before our closure for any medications or prescription food to ensure you have everything your pet needs for the long weekend!

We hope you and your furry family members have a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled long weekend! ❤️

🐾 September is Animal Pain Awareness Month! 🐾

Our pets are experts at hiding pain, which means subtle changes can sometimes be the only clue that something isn’t quite right. 💙

Keep an eye out for signs such as:
🐶 Changes in activity or behaviour
🐱 Difficulty getting up, walking, or jumping
🐾 Reluctance to play or exercise
🍽️ Changes in appetite
💤 Restlessness or changes in sleep
💗 Increased sensitivity, whining, or hiding

Pain isn’t always obvious—and it shouldn’t be considered a normal part of getting older. If you notice changes in your pet, our team is here to help identify the cause and discuss ways to keep them comfortable and improve their quality of life.

Because a pain-free pet is a happier pet. 💙

Today we’re celebrating the curious, cuddly, sassy, silly, and sometimes slightly judgmental companions who make our lives better just by being in them. 😻

We had some seriously adorable feline visitors at Alcona Animal Hospital this week, and what better way to celebrate than by showing off a few of their sweet faces! 🐾

From the purrs and head bumps to the zoomies and 3 a.m. adventures, every cat has a personality all their own—and we love them for it. 💙

🐾 August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month! 🐾
