Mobile Animal Massage Services provided throughout Central Alberta - caring for your animal in your home, at an event, your veterinary / rehab facility. We may provide transport for your animal to your rehab facility to combine massage and rehab services to ensure top quality care. Reiki energy healing can help to unblock and realign your animal’s chakras, this can help clear and resolve some behavior issues and anxieties with your pet. Animals are energy sensitive, they communicate with energy, this is why they will lean on us and how they know to comfort us when we are feeling sad. Reiki is an energy based healing practice that animals understand far more than humans. They know when they need it and when they don't and are much more receptive to receiving this energy. Why I started this journey...

In 2009, a single little paralyzed Daxie suffering from Inter-vertebral Disk Disease started a desperate journey of vet visits, chiropractor and acupuncture treatments & months of home therapy. This experience sparked a resolve to increase our knowledge & ability to help other animals and their families. Bringing holistic solutions to pet parents is what Red Lantern is about. You know, energy work and intuition is the most magical experience ever, and we all have it

Sort of stumbling in the dim of darkness I was setting up an altar to do a session for a very lovely young mother, primarily to help with her skin condition

I stared at my mountain of crystals, and picked this one, and this one , ooooh and yes this one , and definitely this one !

My armload of goddess statues and crystals , one by one placed upon the altar

Each of the four crystals I chose at random, (there isn’t really such a thing as random and I am not a crystal guru either .... )

I guess that’s why each of the crystals “chosen” .... chose themselves ...

blue apatite, carnelian, howlite (behind the Rose quartz) and chrysocolla .... I researched afterward, all have healing qualities relating to skin conditions

Note the goddess statue holding the two children, she is standing backwards. I saw this, I looked at her again, I thought about turning her around, nope, ... she is supposed to be backwards, and left her that way.

Following the session and during discussion it was confirmed that the young mother’s skin condition is also affecting her back

Powerful stuff hey?

I am still blown away at our human ability to connect with another being from a distance

Anyways, just wanted to share, it is so important that we realize we are all connected 🌍🌎🌏

I always wondered what it would be like to have a dog so deeply devoted to his family ...

but alas, I chose sled dogs as my 25 year long companions and I truly love them for exactly who they are, exactly as they are ... and their quirks which simply put, are not necessarily attractive to everyone , but to those of us who dedicate our lives to the breeds, they are perfect in every way they can be

This guy is one of the devoted good ones. He would move mountains for his family

I have been trying to stay in seclusion and keep my personal life off this page

Bahhhhh .... secrets ... hate em

Juice, aka BeetleJuice, his real name is actually Zeus

had a history of seizures in his youth ...

he enjoyed several years seizure free and lived a great life as my #1 lead dog, crazy as hell, loving, and powerful

Our seizure-free party is now over and we are being hit with a vengeance ...

we have been struggling for weeks to get his seizures under control, we are doing the meds, we are following the dosages, we set alarm clocks to make sure the loading doses were every six hours ... not five, not seven ... SIX ...
we are under excellent veterinary care

I can’t cry in front of him, I just suck it up and carry on as normal telling him how handsome he is and he is still my number one, top notch lead dog.

But my heart is dying inside

I pretend all is normal, chattering away to him as he is moved from place to place depending on how his body is and how much he collapses and faceplants that particular day and the respective dangers of each yard ... always looking for the safest place,

sometimes he needs help to p**p, and sometimes I express his bladder

Sometimes the dish is held close to his face to eat and drink, sometimes he can manage to find himself into a big bucket fastened to a fence, using his own balance and sketchy muscle control to find the food and enjoy a softened meal like the true lead dog that he is

For a while he was pulled from the crate like a calf pulled from its mother ... and now sometimes he’s sitting there, upright, and waiting, and sometimes not

he sometimes marches so fast on our walks I think I need a bicycle to keep up ... the next day he hits the dirt and is like lifting and moving a 50 lb sack of furry love.

He is incoherent sometimes, and others his eyes squint in a smile and his ears press back just enough that I know he recognizes me and is genuinely in the moment ...

then he disappears again as the meds take effect
