Sunday afternoon turkey cooking, and like everything else on this planet it's always six of one and half dozen of the other. I decided to try cutting the turkey up before I cooked it so it be ready to just package up for my partner for his lunches next week, and it took just as long I think as cooking it as one big bird and then dismantling it after it cools. But maybe a little bit quicker? Anyway enjoy LOL

Lunch at StrongWell Farms just now. Eggs and pork raised with love right here, no antibiotics, chickens (and ducks and turkeys!) with free access to a magnificent coops and to predator-safe outdoor runs and the pigs pasture-raised supplemented with feed grown on a local Farm and then soaked/fermented which they love and finished on beautiful apples gifted by our wonderful friends and neighbors. Funny thing about cholesterol too, did you know that if you don't eat enough cholesterol your body is forced to make it and that's the stuff that's bad for you? Yep, your brain runs on cholesterol and if you don't eat enough of it you're in big trouble.

Yes, we have both chicken and duck eggs for sale. Regular customers will be be prioritized in order of start date when egg production drops during the dark months.

Chicken eggs $4/dozen Duck eggs $9/dozen

And by the way, once you've baked with duck eggs you will never go back to chicken eggs again.

Professional chefs often prefer duck eggs for baking due to their higher fat content, which results in baked goods that are richer, fluffier, and rise better. The larger yolk and higher fat content contribute to a more tender and moist final product. Additionally, duck eggs can provide a more pronounced "eggy" flavor that some bakers appreciate.

My partner and I also vastly prefer their flavour and texture to those of chicken eggs in cooking.

All our ducks were incubated and hand-raised here on the farm by me, most of them from eggs produced here as well. They have never received antibiotics or vaccinations of any sort and have full access to a beautiful grass paddock.

Many of our chickens were also raised here the same way, although this year we have taken on two new breeds as adults who are also doing very well. Everybody is given a high quality food as well as oats and fresh greens every day. They are happy girls.

Everybody gets organic apple cider vinegar and organic oregano oil in their water for optimal health.

The pictures were all taken this morning. The ducks are enjoying hiding out in their bush, and the chickens of course came racing over to see me because I bring the Treats LOL

Eggs are unwashed and kept on the counter in traditional fashion. This means you don't need to use up fridge space. They last for months this way.

A new study suggests that consuming up to three eggs per day can be beneficial for healthy adults by improving HDL (good cholesterol) function and promoting a less atherogenic LDL (bad cholesterol) profile. The study found that while one egg a day was sufficient to increase HDL function and large LDL particle concentration, consuming two to three eggs daily supported greater improvements in HDL function and increased plasma carotenoids.

Key findings of the study:
Improved HDL function:
Egg consumption, particularly at higher levels (2-3 eggs/day), was associated with increased HDL function.

Beneficial LDL profile:
Eating up to three eggs daily was linked to a less atherogenic LDL profile, meaning a lower risk of plaque buildup in arteries.

Increased plasma carotenoids:
Consuming 2-3 eggs per day resulted in higher levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in the blood, which are beneficial antioxidants.

No adverse effects on blood lipids:
The study found no adverse effects on blood lipid profiles when consuming up to three eggs daily.

Eggs are a low-cost healthy protein source.

And yes, once again it turns out you've been lied to and everything you thought you knew about eating eggs is untrue.
