Well late summer have some litters finally. I have a couple of tri/brindle mini rex jrs avail transport to barriere show is possible both siblings out of puzzle I will get pics up. And 1 chocolate and 2 black silver fox jr bucks, they were born during the feed change over so are a little stunted still. Will be $ reasonable and not pedigreed pm me for info. More litters due in 2 weeks see how it goes finally getting back on track! (Picture is tri jr buck nfs)
On a side note there may be lack of litters but the number of buns has increased haha. Will be getting back my dwarf papillons I sold a few months ago next month give them another shot as well as adding some more himalayans to the mix. Quite the variety in breeds again :)

Well we are a few weeks in to the feed transition and yes there is definitely an improvement it took 2 weeks before they started eating it, I did lose another doe in the process unfortunately but everyone left seems to be well. Some have finished molts and have much darker shiny coats I havent seen in years. As some may know ive had hell of a time getting condition on my mini rex and well guess the feed was the real reason here. I am still not fond of 18% because they get fat quick so just rationing at moment. I palpated 100% all 11 does took as well poor black doe is gonna explode should have lots babies by weekend finally including tri mini rex expected. What a long journey these past months but finally looks like will be back on track 💪

Well officially on piglet watch lola been hanging out in barn last 24hr waiting away. With the feed switch we have had massive molts in the rabbits started now, have bred some does see what will take.

Mini rex litter HD's Puzzle Me x HD's Hot D have 4 babies left, they are a little stunted from the feed switch so will stay with mom longer. Yes you see that right there is a chocolate brindle in there it was definitely a surprise as theres zero chocolate in the peds. Will be keeping its a buck too. I will be letting a tri doe go pictured there in a couple weeks for pet/breeding program pm me if interested. Hopefully get more tris in the next batch of litters 🤞

Well things around farm slowly going ahead, currently have 78 growouts currently of ameraucana, bcm and isbar/ee mix, see what we get this fall to keep, finally getting does bred, we ended up switching feed due to issues with the other feed and noticing major differences in coat, weight and does wanting to breed so crossing fingers. There are several hens on nests and one hen hatched 10 chicks yesterday woot. Goose and turkeys on nests too and Lola my kune kune is due anytime so piglets on the way. I do plan on going to a couple shows this fall even with only jrs from the 2 litters I currently have. Enjoy the peace of the summer in the meantime 🙂

Finally spring is here, everyone is outside in there outside cages for the summer. One litter on ground right now Black Ice 4 legs/GC x Black Butterfly/3 legs/GC. All fox are bred and 12 mini rex bred hoping for lots of babies 🤞

So wanted to update for around the farm here

Next weekend is critter craft sale at Evergreen Park, unfortunately because of the losses and such I will only have a couple mini rex looking for pet homes and some random chicks from eggs hatched. I will also be dispersing some of my flock due to age, missing roosters for breeding pens or downsizing. They will include US line bcm hens, ameraucana, olive and easter egger. And my trio of wheaten ameraucana. First come first served at my booth. I will also be bringing a young kune kune boar for rehoming.

As for everything else, ive got 12 mini rex bred and working on getting the silver fox bred. I have purchased hatching eggs from known breeders in BC and AB to rebuild my flock along with whatever eggs I have myself. This year just a rebuilding phase.

I do however have a couple mini/toy aussie pups that will be ready to go next weekend. They will not be at the sale due to amount of parvo and evergreen parks rules but can bring to GP for anyone interested. Blue eyed bi merle male and light marked tri female. Pm for info.

So its been a while since ive posted anything. Its been a hell of a winter from the amount of snow and prolonged off and on cold here. Still seeing cold temps this week swinging back and forth 20 degrees its alot.
Because of this winter we have sustained losses in all the barns. Even with heat lamps, feed increases and access to water its just been one of those years. Because of that I won't be offering any waitlists nor be much available this spring. Anything that does come available will be sparce as I need to rebuild. The muscovies are no more, and I have a trio of pekin left. Turkeys are totally fine though.
Poultry wise I have decided to sell the wheaten ameraucana trio I have left, and will be dispersing my bcm and olive egger hens at the critter sale as I do not have a bcm roo nor a spare ameraucana roo..will start over with hatching eggs. The other breeds are all good just want to replace first before offering.

On further note we have had losses and issues with the rabbits who are also inside at 0 degree temps. 16 does were bred for the critter sale and lost all litters or didnt take due to various reasons. So will have nothing available for the critter sale rabbit wise.
In regards to the silver fox, I have had dozens of msgs of people looking for stock. I have nothing probably till mid summer now. I had 1 litter born yesterday but with temp swings im not holding my breath till it warms up. I will rebreed everyone once it does warm up.
On another note the dwarf papillons have been sold and have 1 himi left so no longer raising both those breeds. Sticking with silver fox and mini rex.

Unfortunately having livestock comes with costs, I had alot of older animals so it was expected...still hard though. Just give it time to rebuild 💪
