Pawsitive Pups Daycare & Training

Pawsitive Pups Daycare & Training Pawsitive Pups Daycare & Training offers dogs a safe and fun place to play, learn, and grow. We also offer a socialization class and private training options.

Offering daycare & training to the dogs and their families of High River & surrounding communities. Pawsitive Pups Daycare provides a stimulating environment for your dogs to enjoy. Opening at 6:30am, we provide a full day of play paired with training, visits to the yard, equipment and toys. A short one to two hour nap allows dogs a bit of 'me' time, ensuring dogs take a break during their visit.

This time is also used to feed dogs with snacks or lunch and gives them an opportunity to eat and digest. Group Classes & Private Training are primarily taught by our founder, Brittany Wallace. A Certified Dog trainer and Behaviorist, she has worked with hundreds of dogs and families to help both understand and build a trusting relationship that fulfills both beings lives with a 'pawsitive' and rich union. Group classes (basic obedience, puppy training, shy dog) are structured to accommodate 4 to 6 dogs and run in 5 week sessions, once a week for one hour. Make sure to check out our website and page for more info. We have set the standard for care in the Foothills and take pride in building trusting relationships with each of our clients and dogs, we know that trusting someone with your dog can be hard and we want you to know that they are treated with love and skill, by trained professionals that love each dog as their own. www.pawsitivepupsab.com

The rivers are rising with all the rain as well as the snow coming off the mountains that Okotoks has announced it is stage 1 of an emergency plan.

With all that being said it is important to have a plan! It is a scary thing to be in an emergency but even more scary if you have nothing ready! Make yourself a bag that is easy to grab and go but out of reach of your pup/cats. Have a plan make sure everyone in your family has a job and know who is doing what. Make sure everyone is comfortable with the plan, and have a safe place to meet up once you are all out and safe. Have an emergency contact in case no one is home that would be able to grab your pets if needed.

Be safe! Stay away from the rivers and the flood zone around the river. A flash flood can come quickly and is not worth the risk!

Stay safe, be prepared!

Parade prep day 3.
Remember it may be a hot day! Our dogs do not sweat like we do to cool yourself off. They can sweat through their paws. Dogs will use their panting as a way to cool themselves as the air travels back theough their muzzle it starts to cool as it goes down into the body. Which is why our short snoot dogs overheat faster they have a short muzzle to cool the air going in.

Make sure to find some shady areas for them and to pack them some water for the festivities to make sure they stay hydrated! Also keep in mind that payment can get quite hot on their Paws causing some burns.

Parade prep day 1.
The parade is a busy and loud day for our dogs! There is lots of people cheering, kids running around, vehicles, marching bands, loud floats and of course animals. Just remember that is very loud and can be scary for our dogs. They don't always understand whats going on and can be afraid. Start preparing now for some sounds. Start with the volume low on your phone and pair the sounds with some treats to build that positive association to the sounds.

On parade day keep a distance from the noise best you can, bring lots of treats to help work through some scary things. Pay attention to your pet if they look scared, trying to flee or just shutting down take them away somewhere quiet let them do some sniffing.
Remember they don't always have to join sometimes its best to keep them home!
