💙Goose 💙

If you're looking for a gentle soul with a heart of gold, we'd love for you to meet Goose.

At about 4 years old, Goose is fully vetted and more than ready to find a family of his very own. He is one of the sweetest-natured dogs you'll ever meet—quiet, kind, and always happy to accept a little affection from the people he trusts.

Goose can be a bit timid and looks to other dogs for reassurance, so he would do wonderfully in a home with another friendly dog his size or larger. Having a canine buddy around helps him feel more confident as he navigates the world.

Because of his collie instincts, Goose is not a good match for homes with small animals such as cats, chickens, or small dogs. He simply gets a little too interested in them. Larger dogs, however, are right up his alley!

One thing Goose is still working on is leash walking. When a leash comes out, he tends to freeze in place and isn't quite sure what to do. But take that leash away and you'll see the real Goose! He loves to run around, stretch his legs, and enjoy life. After a little playtime, his tongue hangs out in the cutest way, and he'll happily wander over for some well-earned snuggles.

And let's talk about those eyes! Goose has absolutely stunning heterochromia—one blue eye and one brown eye—that make him impossible to forget. Combined with his sweet expression and gentle personality, he's truly a special boy.

Goose doesn't need much. Just a patient home, a dog friend to lean on, and people who will give him the time and love he deserves. In return, you'll get a loyal companion who will quietly steal your heart.

⭐ Orion ⭐ **Our discounted dog of the month!**

It's hard to believe, but Orion is the only remaining puppy from the litter born right here in our care back in October 2025.

While all of her siblings have moved on to their forever homes, Orion is still waiting for her chance. She was adopted a few months ago but due to a change in life circumstances -they had to return poor Orion back to us.

This spunky girl is full of life and absolutely loves being outdoors. Give her some space to stretch her legs, a dog buddy to chase around, and she's in her element! She thrives when she has a canine friend to play with and enjoys nothing more than a good run followed by a well-earned nap.

Orion spent some time in a foster home on an acreage, and they had wonderful things to say about her. She did great in the yard, even when unsupervised, and never felt the need to leave the property. She was content to stay close to home and enjoy the company of her people.

Now, let's address the photo—because it doesn't do her size justice! Orion grew up to be a big girl, and we believe she may have ended up being one of the largest pups in her litter.

Like many young dogs who have spent too much time in a shelter environment, Orion can be a little jumpy when she's excited. Unfortunately, with limited staff time and the constant stimulation of kennel life, we haven't been able to fully break that habit. The good news is that this is exactly the kind of thing that improves with consistency, structure, and clear boundaries.

What Orion really needs is a chance to be a dog again. A home where she isn't wound up by the noise and chaos of shelter life. A family who can give her the routine, exercise, and guidance she deserves. We truly believe that once she's out of the shelter environment, you'll see just how wonderful she can be.

After growing up in our care, we'd love nothing more than to see Orion finally get the happy ending she's been waiting for.

This kitten was found and picked up by a kind Samaritan after narrowly being killed by dogs. She is approximately 8-9 weeks old and is thin.

How has this beautiful girl not received a single adoption application?

Moo is about 5 years old, fully vetted, and one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. With her incredibly soft fur, gentle nature, and stunning looks, she turns heads everywhere she goes. Yet somehow, she continues to wait for someone to notice her.

Moo may have some hearing and vision impairments, but don't let that scare you away. We know she *can* hear and *can* see —she simply experiences the world a little differently than some other dogs. What she lacks in perfect senses, she more than makes up for with her loving heart and personality.

She doesn't ask for much. A cozy place to nap, a family to love, and a home where she can finally belong.

We know her perfect family is out there somewhere. Maybe they just haven't seen her yet.

🐾Clyde 🐾

If you've ever dreamed of owning a real-life shaggy teddy bear, Clyde might just be your guy.

This handsome Wolfhound mix is estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old and is every bit as big as you'd expect - but don't let his size fool you. Beneath that rugged, scruffy exterior is a gentle and timid soul who would much rather make friends than cause trouble.

Clyde takes comfort in having another dog around and would do wonderfully in a home with a canine companion. In fact, he doesn't mind one bit if the other dog is the boss! He's happy to follow along and let someone else take the lead while he builds his confidence.

And those eyes... once you find them hidden beneath all that wild hair, you're done for. They have a way of looking right into your heart and making you fall in love.

Like many dogs who haven't had much experience with the outside world, Clyde is still learning the ropes when it comes to leash walking. The good news? He's making great progress and gets a little better every day. With patience, encouragement, and consistency, we think he's going to make a wonderful walking companion.

Clyde is scheduled to be neutered next week and is hoping that by the time he's recovered, his forever family will be waiting for him. After all, recovering from surgery sounds a whole lot better on a comfy couch than in a shelter kennel!

We are looking for someone who can help transport our sweet girl Grace from High Prairie to Edmonton so she can make her way to her forever home!

Any day after Thursday would work. Grace is a medium-sized dog.

For the month of September, we are offering a reduced adoption fee for both of these amazing companions. We hope these special offers will help increase interest and applications for these wonderful animals. Thank you to the Big Lakes Animal Care Facility Society for making this possible!

Orion: Orion is a fun, goofy, lovable dog born in October 2025. This energetic young girl loves to run, play, and explore, and gets along well with kids and other dogs. She'd enjoy a canine companion and is learning not to jump up when excited, so she'll need continued guidance with her manners. After playtime, she's happy to curl up for a nap and stays close to her people outdoors. Orion is ready to bring love, joy, and loyalty to her forever home. She has not been tested with cats.

Athena: Athena is a beautiful dilute calico looking for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Sweet and affectionate, Athena would do best in a quiet home where she can relax and feel secure. She may prefer to be the only cat, but with a little patience, Athena is sure to become a loving companion.
