🌷🎪 We’re About as Ready as We’re Going to Be! 🎪🌷

After weeks of preparation, setup, repairs, organizing, and more than a few cups of coffee, we’re finally ready to kick off our Spring Market at Belding Hill Farms!

Well… ready enough anyway. 😅

Come spend the day exploring dozens of local vendors, visiting the animals, enjoying the fresh country air, and celebrating the start of another market season with us.

📅 Saturday, May 30th – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
📅 Sunday, May 31st – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

🎟 Admission is $8 (tax included) for anyone 7 years of age and older.

👧🧒 Children under 7 are absolutely welcome and are admitted FREE! We’ve had a few people asking, so yes, bring the little ones along to enjoy the animals, vendors, and farm atmosphere.

⚠️ Please Note:
Admission will be collected up by the farm this weekend rather than at our usual admission booth. Just follow the signs when you arrive and we’ll get you pointed in the right direction.

Jill and I are looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new faces, and sharing another great weekend on the farm.

See you soon! 🌞🐑🐖🐄

🐑☕ Some mornings on the farm start a little slower than others…

Jill and I wandered over to the market this morning, still trying to wake up and get our first coffee into us. 😴

One of the first jobs was letting the sheep out so they could head to their pasture for the day. Well… that was the plan anyway. 🤣

Turns out I wasn’t quite quick enough getting the gate open, and about three-quarters of the flock decided they had their own ideas. Instead of heading where they were supposed to go, they took off for the field below the pig pens and started helping themselves to a fresh breakfast.

You know what? Sometimes it’s best not to argue with sheep. 🐑🌱

So they’ll spend the morning out there enjoying a good munch before we round them back up and tuck them into the barn area before the market gets underway.

Just another perfectly normal day at Belding Hill Farms… where the animals don’t always follow the schedule. 😂

🎉 Opening Weekend at Belding Hill Farms & Spring Market! 🎉

Well, if I’m being honest, I’m still not nearly as ready as I’d like to be.

Normally we’d be opening in March or early April, but here we are almost at the end of May and I’m still scrambling to get things ready. Between the winter storm damage and a side job that’s kept me away from the farm more than expected, a lot of projects have taken longer than planned.

That said, it is what it is. I’m not going to lose sleep over it. We’ll keep plugging away, get as much done as we can, and enjoy the weekend regardless. 😊

This weekend marks our official opening weekend of the farm for the 2026 season, so if you’ve been waiting to come visit the animals, walk the farm, and see what we’ve been up to, now’s your chance!

For this market weekend, we’ve once again reduced our admission pricing. We know some folks don’t love paying a full admission fee when they’re primarily coming for the market, so we’re making it simple:

🎟️ Admission is just $8 per person (ages 7 and up), taxes included.

Your admission still includes access to all of our animals and farm grounds. Agritourism is what keeps Belding Hill Farms going, and the market is just one piece of the experience.

💵 If possible, bringing a little cash with you would be appreciated. We’ll still have electronic payment options available, but some of the storm damage this winter affected parts of our internet and power infrastructure, so cash may help make things run a little smoother.

🐕 Please note that dogs are not permitted on the farm, both for the safety of our animals and the comfort of our visitors.

In the meantime, the sheep seem completely unconcerned about any of my stress. They’re spending the afternoon doing what sheep do best—laying around, chewing their cud, and reminding me that maybe I should relax a little too. 😂

We hope to see you this weekend!

🦆🌱 The ducks were up at the greenhouse tonight waiting very impatiently for “their person”… otherwise known as Alex. 😂

Alex has them completely spoiled with corn every time he’s up there working, so now they come running whenever they hear someone arrive, hoping for snacks and attention.

But tonight really got Jill and I thinking about how incredibly thankful we are for the people we have around us. ❤️

Today was one of those big “get ready for market” kind of days, and friends like Alex & Gina, Andrew, and my cousin Pat all showed up and helped us knock out a pile of work around the farm. The truth is, there’s absolutely no way Jill and I could do all of this alone.

We honestly don’t know what we ever did to deserve such great people in our lives, but we sure are thankful for every one of them.

Farming can be exhausting, chaotic, and overwhelming some days… but good people make the hard work lighter. 🌾

🐂🔧 Boomer has officially been promoted to “Assistant Fence Installer”… although I’m not totally convinced he understands the assignment. 😂

While my cousin and I were trying to move a fence panel today, Boomer figured he’d better come supervise the whole operation. Lots of sniffing, staring, and standing exactly where we needed to be. You know… quality farm help. 😅

Truth be told, he was mostly just curious what the humans were up to. Boomer always likes to make sure nothing interesting happens around the farm without him being involved somehow.

Life with animals is never boring around here. ❤️

We are asked this question a lot, " how can you raise your animals, then eat them?"
For those that have spoken to me directly about this, I have always said, and this will never change for me, " everytime we ship an animal, I have a lump in my throat, but at the same time I am extremely grateful for what this animal is giving us in return."

Dr. Hake explains this very well.

Let the sheep shenanigans begin!
Today is barn clean out day, so the sheep were let out into the pasture. Well they were guided to the pasture we wanted them in by Luke, but we all know what our sheep can be like... 🤷‍♀️
