My FAVORITE time of the year... when Mellow goes broody.

I have had this hen from the start, and she is worth her weight in gold. She's a dark mossy olive egger, lays nice big eggs, and is the absolute best mother, and the sweetest hen. She's extremely loyal once she becomes broody and protects her chicks. I've also had her adopt teens a time or two.

Tweedle Dee and tweedle dumb are currently in search of loving homes. Graciously gifted to us December 1st from a broody mama who decided to hatch chicks in the woods just in time for the Christmas season. ✨

They are friendly gentle boys raised around rambunctious kids and have been good with the hens!

Surprise!
We will have chicks available for pickup this week/weekend. Seven are out now, with more pipped.

These are straight run, Hen's Choice chicks (purebred Ameraucana & Olives & Easters mixed together. It's the luck of the draw) 10 each. They are first come, first served. They go fast so PM and let us know how many you're looking for.

Located near Quispamsis.

When receiving OE/EE chicks or hatching eggs from us, here's what to expect; Color Variety and lots of it!

These are 2026 growouts. My own and friends, who have hatched eggs or gotten chicks. I absolutely love getting updates and seeing what my flock has been producing 🐣

A little information on our breeding program:

Purebred Ameraucanas carry a dominant gene for blue eggs, the blue pigment which is seen throughout the entire eggshell. The blue shell color is caused by oocyanin, a pigment deposited early in the shell-making process that permeates the entire egg wall.

Here is how our Olive Eggers are produced:

When an Ameraucana, which carries a dominant gene for blue eggs, is over a hen that lays brown the offspring inherit one copy of the blue gene and the genes for brown coating. As a result, the offspring hens will produce a blue shell and then coat it in brown pigment. The combination of blue + brown creates various shades of olive & green.

Our Olive eggers will always be Olive eggers. No surprise Brown layers.

Here is how our Easter Eggers are produced:

When you cross a chicken that lays white or pink eggs, the resulting offspring will almost always lay blue eggs, because the blue gene is dominant, it overrides the "lack of color" in white layers or the light tint of pink layers, though a pink-laying parent may sometimes result in a slightly more teal or aqua hue in the next generation.

Our Easter eggers will always be blue - teal colored layers.

We are welcoming Steevie into our flock this weekend πŸ“
He is a massive 9 month old, purebred Blue Ameraucana Rooster. He will be a great addition to our Ameraucana breeding program, and help in producing Olive and Easter Eggers!
