🥳Celebrating 5 years of serving the New Brunswick horse community! When I first opened this practice at the tail end of a global pandemic I wasn’t certain what to expect. The horse industry in this province seemed very different from where I had come from, and I wasn’t sure what client uptake would be like or if we could make a viable go of it. I am so glad I did! We have grown from a one-woman show operating as a side-gig to a fantastic team offering full-time care with more growth to come. Thank you to all of the wonderful clients who have supported us, and to my wonderful wife who has worked behind the scenes enable this dream. I am grateful for the 5 years of trust, dedication and shared success and looking forward to the next 5 years ahead!

🐴Treating a joint!💉

This horse had a chronic left front lameness, and diagnostic nerve blocks localized it to the pastern joint. This particular horse had some metabolic issues which meant that corticosteroids were not the safest option for treatment. Instead we used ProStride, which involves creating a concentrated solution of anti-inflammatory proteins from the horse’s own blood, and using this to directly treat the problematic joint. We also collaborated with this horse’s farrier, optimizing the biomechanics of the foot to minimize strain on the supporting soft tissue structures. The old adage “no hoof no horse” rings true, and optimal farriery goes a long ways to maximizing soundness!
