Kit does not like this oncoming dog but notice how hard he is working to stay calm and follow my lead. He steps AWAY all on his own . Even though he has a shoulder mohawk his actual intention is to yield AWAY and stay focused on me. This is why the handler must learn to read the dogs actual INTENTION and not fixate on body language. Human interpretation of body language is unreliable and vastly different from dog to dog. Intentions never lie. (The huffing and puffing is from the oncoming dog 🤣)

Fantastic example of how I set Luca up for success when passing oncoming bikes (people/dogs/cars/etc.) by monitoring his intentions, correcting any mental arousal first before making space using obedience.
1/ Calm state of mind first then we
2/ use our obedience to create a space cushion at the right moment.
Always address brain before body. Reactivity is a mentally aroused brain issue, not an obedience body issue.

Little chat about Luca’s fantastic progress in training! Luca was initially quite reactive to all things and now thanks to our communication Ecollar training approach he’s learning to control his impulses and ultimately maintain a calm state of mind with consistent leadership (correction, guidance, structure and advocacy). So proud of this guy! 🥹❤️
