💕 Meet Matilda the Guinea Pig
She was found downtown Hamilton in a grocery bag and came to The Urban Zoo for some much needed grooming with Alanna.

Her long fur had become severely matted with large tangles caked with hay, urine and f***s. She needed some extra care and patience. We carefully worked through her coat to help Matilda feel more comfortable.
(she was bribed with peppers and lettuce to make her feel more comfortable 😉)

we’re sending this sweet girl lots of love❤️

Meet this little beauty ready to find its forever home!
This Crested Gecko has a special connection to The Urban Zoo because it was bred right here by our Manager Alanna and Reptile Specialist Eric!
We love being able to share our passion for reptiles, continue learning and watching these amazing animals grow. There’s something extra special about raising them and being apart of the process!.

A little throwback… 👀🦜🐍

Some of you may recognize this logo from a very long time ago! ❤️

We thought it was time to bring it back for something we’ve been working on behind the scenes…

The Urban Zoo has always been about sharing our love for animals and helping people learn about them, and we’re excited to take that passion beyond the store.

The Travelling Zoo is coming back! 🐾

We’ll be sharing more very soon.✨...so stay tuned..we're putting together something really special.

Meet the Red Lory🥰❤️

Lories are beautiful, energetic birds known for their bright red feathers, playful personalities, and curious nature. They are very active birds that love to climb, explore, play and are always interacting with their people or other birds!

Our little Red Lory is currently being hand raised, giving them lots of hands on socialization and positive experiences as they grow. ❤️

We’re now taking deposits for this little one’s future forever home! Thinking about this gorgeous bird? Send us a message or come chat with us about their personality, diet, care, and what it takes to keep one happy and healthy.
