🍡🐢 GREEN TEA EXTRACT CUTS DOG CANCER CELL GROWTH BY 50% IN LAB TESTS! 🀯

Green tea contains powerful plant antioxidants called polyphenols, including EGCG. And canine research is uncovering some fascinating findings!

πŸ”¬ 1. GREEN TEA & CANCER
A peer-reviewed Cornell University study published in BMC Veterinary Research found green tea extract inhibited cancer cell growth by 50% at specific lab concentrations across THREE canine cancer cell lines:

🐾 Mast cell cancer
🐾 Bone cancer (osteosarcoma)
🐾 Mammary cancer

πŸ”₯ 2. LESS LIVER INFLAMMATION
In a 12-week canine study, green tea polyphenols reduced three major inflammatory signals: TNF-Ξ±, IL-1Ξ² and IL-6. Researchers also observed less liver fat buildup and tissue damage!

🦠 3. BETTER GUT HEALTH
Another canine study found green tea polyphenols improved markers of intestinal inflammation and influenced gut bacteria.

🦷 4. ORAL HEALTH
Green tea catechins have been investigated for fresher dog breath. A multi-ingredient formula containing matcha also reduced dental plaque!

Seizures can be one of the most difficult challenges for both dogs and their families. While medication is often necessary, nutrition, including medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), can play an important role in supporting brain health and reducing seizure potential.

Research highlights the connection between MCT oil, ketones, gut health, and seizure management. Supporting the body through targeted nutrition helps create a stronger foundation for dogs living with seizures.

πŸ“– Read my latest article to discover how MCTs, the gut microbiome, and food-based strategies support neurologic stability and quality of life in seizure-prone dogs.

🐢 DID YOU KNOW? Some dogs eat things that aren't food.

It's called Pica β€” the behavior of eating non-food items such as rocks, plastic, fabric, and other objects.

And that's one reason we need to be especially careful about what gets left behind in our parks.

🚭 Cigarette butts are toxic to dogs.

They can contain ni****ne, which can cause poisoning if swallowed. Even a discarded cigarette butt lying in the grass can become a serious health risk to a curious dog.

At Country Canines Play Park, your dog's safety matters. Please remember that smoking is not permitted at our parks, and never smoke cigarette or leave any other harmful waste behind.

Let's work together to keep our parks clean and safe for every dog who visits. πŸ•

URGENT β€” Winston needs his furever home. Please share.

Meet Winston: a 3-year-old, 156 lb St. Bernard in Brantford, Ontario, who is running out of time through no fault of his own.

Winston's owner lost his housing in April. Since then, Winston has been living in a basement apartment, and is let out three times a day for walks and meals. A good dog in a hard situation, waiting for his life back.

We won't varnish him, because Winston deserves the home that actually fits. He was attacked by another dog when he was one, and it changed him. He is frightened of strangers and unfamiliar dogs, and he needs time and space to decide you are safe. With the people he knows, he bonds hard: well-mannered, fully house-trained, never destructive, and protective of his family in the way Saints are. His owner tells us he has been growing friendlier and more confident lately. He needs someone patient enough to let him come to them.

Winston is looking for:
β€’ An experienced giant-breed home β€” 156 lbs of nervous dog is not a first dog
β€’ A calm, adult home where he can be the only pet (no cats, please)
β€’ A fenced yard, and someone physically able for his strength on a leash
β€’ Patience β€” ignore him at first, and let him choose you

He is a healthy boy who eats Purina One Lamb & Rice, and he is available through our foster-to-adopt program: live with him first, with our support, and decide together whether he is yours.

To ask about Winston, message this Page and send the word ADOPT, and we will send you our Pre-Adoption Questionnaire. Every applicant is carefully screened. For Winston's sake, we will take the time to find the right match.

If Winston isn't your dog, please share this post. His person is out there, and they may be one share away.

Saint Bernard people: what helped your nervous giant learn the world was safe? Tell us below.
