Meet Christine, a dedicated volunteer of the Companion Animal Hospital at the Hamilton Burlington SPCA!

Christine has been lending a helping hand for 25 years, starting out with dog walking before transitioning to become a Companion Animal Hospital volunteer. As a nurse, her background makes her a natural fit for assisting with surgeries, especially supporting animals through their recoveries, checking on them in their kennels, and keeping detailed records.

Her nursing expertise, compassion, and deep love for animals make a huge impact every single day.

Christine, thank you for sharing your time, talent, and heart with the HBSPCA. We are so grateful to have you as part of our team!

🐶 Level One Dog Training | Wed, Nov 4th | 6:45 PM-7:45 PM | Learn sit, down, heel, stay, and more, in this interactive, intimate dog training class at the HBSPCA. We'll cover everything you need to get started.

🚨 Pet First Aid Course | Sunday, November 15th | 9 AM–7 PM | Be ready for the unexpected. This hands-on course teaches life-saving skills for pet emergencies, complete with certification and take-home guide.

This Thanksgiving, we’re taking a moment to say thank you to the community that makes second chances possible.

From the food in their bowls and the medical care they receive, to foster homes, volunteers, adoptions, and support for families through Pet Pantry... none of it happens without you.

Every donation, every hour volunteered, every foster home opened, and every adoption helps an animal move closer to a better tomorrow.

To everyone who continues to stand behind the animals and people in our community: thank you for being part of every second chance.

🐾 Nail Trim Services Now Available at HBSPCA! 🐾

Keep your pets comfortable and healthy with our dog and cat nail trim services! ✂️🐶🐱

📅 Join us on Friday October 30th at The Hamilton Burlington SPCA (245 Dartnall Rd) Our nail trim clinic will be held in the portable. Appointments are preferred, but we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins if time allows.

Cats $15.00 Dogs $25.00

📌 Important Reminder All pets must have a current rabies vaccination. You can bring your certificate to your appointment or upload it when booking. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats must be in a secure cat carrier.

💙 Our goal is to provide a safe, low-stress experience for pets, staff, and volunteers. For everyone’s well-being, we reserve the right to stop the appointment if a safe and calm environment cannot be maintained.

💛 AMBER’S JOURNEY UPDATE! 🐾

Remember Amber? The sweet 8.5-year-old girl who came into our care weighing 12.6 kg (27.7 lbs) and needing a fresh start? Well, this girl has some exciting news… Amber is thriving in foster care! 🥹💛

With the help of her amazing foster family, Amber is getting the time, patience, love and encouragement she needs to continue working toward a healthier, more comfortable life. 🐾

Her weight-loss journey is going exactly the way we hoped it would: slowly, safely and with lots of support. She is following her special diet and getting more opportunities to move around and exercise throughout the day. And we’re already seeing her become more active and engaged! 💪

A HUGE thank you to Amber’s foster family for helping this girl get moving and cheering her on every step of the way. 💛 Her foster has been such an important part of Amber’s journey, and we are so grateful for all the love and care they’re giving her.

And we also want to say a very special THANK YOU to everyone who donated toward Amber’s special food. 🥹💛 Your generosity means Amber can continue with the diet that is helping her safely work toward a healthier weight.

Amber still has a journey ahead of her, but she is making progress, getting more comfortable and showing us more of her sweet personality along the way. 🐾💕

✂️🐾 NEW: Grooming Options Through Our Pet Health Outreach Program! 🐾✂️

Sometimes your pet doesn’t need a full spa day—they just need a little maintenance and a clean-up to keep them comfortable and looking their best! 💕

We’re now offering in-between maintenance grooms and basic “clean-up” grooms through our Pet Health Outreach Program.

🐱 Do you have a matted cat that needs some help?
🐶 Does your dog need a tidy-up between regular grooming appointments?
✂️ Need a little trim, brush-out or basic clean-up?

Our grooming services are designed to help keep pets comfortable, healthy and looking their best between their regular grooming appointments.

These are basic maintenance grooms—not full breed-specific or extensive styling grooms—but they can make a big difference for pets who need a little extra TLC. 🥰

A huge thank you to Halton Region for hosting us yesterday for a Corporate Comfort Crew visit! 🐾

We had such an amazing time bringing a little happiness to your team and we’re so grateful for your support!

Corporate Comfort Crew visits are more than just a fun workplace experience. These paid visits help us fund Community Kindness visits, allowing us to bring the joy and comfort of animals to community organizations and groups who may not otherwise have access to these experiences.
