Since I stopped posting not too long after getting her, I would like to officially introduce my whole heart

Siena came to me at 9.5wks old in August of 2020 through and had already faced some enormous challenges in her very tiny life. I knew she would have some tough feelings to work through as she grew up, but I didn’t know where that would take us.

It’s a good thing the she’s so cute, because her puppyhood and teenage years were *really* hard. I’d never known a dog who experienced such a rollercoaster of generalized fear, anxiety, and stress - let alone from such a young age.

I’d wanted a dog in order to pursue continuing education opportunities, but those kinds of things couldn’t even be considered until she felt safe in her world. So I let my expectations go and leaned into learning how to care for a sensitive dog.

Now an adult, Siena is the most resilient version of herself. A combination of the right environment and routine, the right resources, a rock-solid support network, and daily medication has expanded her world in ways that those who knew her as a puppy never assumed possible.

Sure, her behaviour is still far from “ideal” in a lot of circumstances - she has severe separation anxiety, she’s sound sensitive, she struggles with environmental contrast, and she is VERY reactive towards unfamiliar dogs.

But all that is fine because perfection will never be our goal. We’re far more concerned with safety and happiness than obedience and control.

And although she didn’t turn out to be the service dog candidate I deeply hoped she’d be, she still supports my disabilities as my doctor-prescribed Emotional Support Animal (ESA) by accompanying me to hospitals, pharmacies, and doctor or physiotherapy appointments.

Kiddo also recently earned her Novice Trick Dog (NTD) title through Do More With Your Dog, and helps me as a demo dog for BTD clients.

So sure, our journey didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. But she’s the dog I needed, and she’s my whole heart♥️

Hello, friends♥️

We’ve been quiet for a while.

Some time ago I stepped away from social media because things were… not good.

Near the end of 2021 Siena and I left Toronto and moved in with my parents. Although it was the right choice, leaving the city was scary because it threw the pet care career and client base I’d built there into limbo.

But that’s where Joey stepped in and gave me an opportunity to keep working downtown as a professional trainer. I’ll forever value the connections made at Creature Comforts with some incredibly special dogs and their guardians, as well as with colleagues &

Even though this job saved my career, Siena’s separation anxiety made the transition to a working schedule incredibly challenging. It’s been a long two years of trial and error (so much error) but with my parents’ help we’re finally reaching our stride with a healthy routine.

All of this is to say that we wouldn’t have been so out of touch for so long if not for having to manage such big changes.

Over the past few years I’ve missed so many messages, and very sincerely apologize if one of them was yours. You’re more than welcome to reach out via my email [email protected] if you want get in touch before I get a chance to tackle my DM’s.

TLDR; Thank you for being here. It means a lot. Now that things are better I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with everyone, and sharing our next big change👀

See you 🔜

Well hello there, friends😊

and I have greatly missed you all. We are so, so happy to be back here with you, and come with two very exciting pieces of news to share!

1. We are beyond thrilled to announce that is open! for! business!🥳 After formally deciding to pursue a training career in 2017, it’s pretty wild to think that the time has finally come. In the near future I’ll elaborate a bit more on why we took such an extended break; for now, swipe ➡️ to see our new services and availability for our soft launch this upcoming week.

2. I figured that there was no more appropriate day to rejoin Internet life than on the 1yr anniversary of Siena’s (unofficial) adoption from 💌 much of what I’ve learned on here from all of you brilliant folks is such a huge piece of what prepared me for Siena and I to become family. Now that we’re both ready, today seemed quite fitting to jump back online and resume sharing our journey together with you. If you’d like, hop on over to Siena’s personal page (lol) for less training-focused, somewhat goofier velveteen piglet content🐷✨

To those who have been around since the days, I can’t possibly thank you enough for sticking with me through so much change. To everyone who has found this page since becoming , welcome! From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for being here.

All of that being said, we can’t wait to share more things we have planned in the near future. Be sure to keep an eye on this space for some fun developments that are coming soon!👀

Hi, friends♥️

As the risk of sounding like a broken record, Siena and I are still here, and still taking some time to grow into some previously-mentioned next steps in our life together. We wanted to thank you all, once again, for your patience during this very weird time for both of us (really, though - Siena’s just finishing up her first heat and has had a lot of feelings about it😅).

When the time is right, I’m *so* excited to share with you the business I’ve been building behind the scenes for the last couple months. Learning with and from such brilliant course-mates under ’s guidance throughout the 6 Weeks To Clarity Mentorship Collective course was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of my career so far. Everyone’s support continues to motivate me to stay focused on what I truly love - helping dogs and their people grow together - despite personal reasons making it a bit too difficult for me to be consistent on this platform, drawing my us inspiration from all you brilliant humans, right now.

Like I said, when the time is right. For now, Siena and I have to finish unpacking after our move last weekend! Goodbye gloomy basement, hello above-ground apartment with giant bedroom window to look out of and bark at that weird bird feeder across the street😈
