Our RVT Month celebrations continue with a spotlight on Griffin, our incredible Exotics Lead RVT! 🦎🐰✨

Griffin is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to caring for species of all kinds—from lizards and fish to bunnies and beyond!

He’s always full of fascinating fun facts and is constantly up for a challenge. Beyond his expertise in exotics, Griffin plays a huge role in keeping our patients safe as our primary RVT monitoring anesthesia during dental procedures, ensuring every pet receives the gentlest, highest-quality care while in surgery. 🩺

When he’s not at AprilVets Bayers Lake, Griffin loves spending his time outdoors exploring new places and soaking in nature 🌲🥾.

We are truly so lucky to have Griffin on our team! Thank you for your dedication, vast knowledge, and endless care for every animal that comes through our doors! 💚

We’re proud to share a special moment of community support! ❤️

Together, AprilVets Bayers Lake, AprilVets Dartmouth Crossing and AprilVets Mumford Road joined forces to gift a stethoscope to each of the 12 students beginning their journey in the SPCA’s Veterinary Technician Program.

As locally owned veterinary hospitals, we believe in giving back to the community we’re part of and supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals. These students are taking their first steps toward becoming Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and we’re honoured to play a small part in their journey.

To all 12 students, congratulations on this exciting new chapter! We’re cheering you on and wishing you every success as you learn, grow, and prepare to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. 🐾❤️

Happy RVT Month! 🐾❤️

October is Registered Veterinary Technician Month, and we want to take a moment to shine a massive spotlight on our incredible RVT team: Malory, Brittany, Cara, Griffin, and Courtney! 🌟

Our RVTs truly do it all! On any given day, you can find them:
💉 Monitoring anesthesia & assisting in surgery
🩸 Collecting blood samples & analyzing lab work (blood, urine, and more!)
🛠️ Troubleshooting and fixing clinic equipment
📦 Keeping track of inventory
📋 Writing medical notes & keeping everything running smoothly
🧹 Maintaining a squeaky-clean, safe environment
🐾 And most importantly... offering endless cuddles, comfort, and care to your beloved pets (and reassurance to their humans, too!).

Our clinic simply couldn't run without their dedication, heart, expertise, and endless versatility.

Our RVT Month celebrations continue with a spotlight on the wonderful Brittany! 💖

Brittany brings years of incredible experience and expertise to AprilVets Bayers Lake, making her such a vital asset to our team. Her boundless empathy and compassion for animals shine through in everything she does—she is truly a gift to veterinary medicine. Beyond her exceptional patient care, Brittany’s top-notch organizational skills keep our clinic completely stocked and running seamlessly behind the scenes as part of our inventory team. 🩺✨

Outside of work, Brittany lives in Halifax with her handsome cat, Gerald, and loves spending her free time reading or catching live music 📚🎶.

She has a huge soft spot for cats, Chihuahuas, and cows—so if you ever bring a Chihuahua to see us, expect extra love from her!

RVT Month Spotlight: Malory 🐾✨

It’s RVT Month, and we’re kicking off our team spotlights with a big shoutout to Malory, our Lead RVT! 🎉

Ask Malory about her job and she’ll tell you: being a Vet Tech is the coolest job on the planet. She handles so much behind the scenes—from keeping inventory on point and managing our social media to making sure every patient gets an extra cuddle (and plenty of smooches!).

Outside the clinic, she lives in East Hants with her husband, their Golden Retriever, and 3 cats. She has an extra special soft spot for Golden Retrievers and sweet senior kitties— and she falls completely in love with every one she meets! 🐶🐱

Thank you, Malory, for everything you do to keep our team grounded and our patients so well cared for! 💚
