Learning that bugs = snacks!

Some cresties need a little time to figure out that insects are actually FOOD.

Learning to eat insects is a process — especially for young cresties! We like to introduce them slowly, let them explore, and make the experience positive and stress-free.

We offer insects dusted in calcium once a week, once they’ve learnt to eat 😂

Just a cute moment we caught while cleaning out enclosures!

Keeping a young Crested Gecko enclosure clean doesn’t have to be complicated! Once a week we:

✨Wipe down decor and surfaces (it’s easier to take it out first)

✨Replace paper towel, quick and easy!

Paper towels make it super easy to keep an eye on your geckos health, by finding poops on the papertowel means it’s eating, which means it’s growing (even if it’s slowly!)

Getting a young or jumpy gecko comfortable with handling takes a little time, regular handling, and sometimes a LOT of patience. 😂

consistency + patience = trust! Stick with it! The more you hang out with your gecko, the more they will learn to hang out too!

We like to switch up the flavours of crested gecko diet fairly often, just to give them some variety!

They show their appreciation by licking their lips after eating! 😋

Just a couple things worth mentioning about feeding your Crested Gecko in this vid! Also, it is not too often you can see them eating, we have never actually seen most of ours eat! They can be sneaky eaters!!

We’ll be sharing Guppy’s handling and bonding journey as they grow! 🦎💛

Since Guppy is still very young and a little jumpy, we’ll be documenting the whole process — the tips, the little wins, and even the setbacks. We want to show the real, gradual process of building trust and confidence, without pretending it’s always perfect.

Hopefully, following along will make the journey feel relatable and give you some helpful tips for working with your own gecko along the way! ✨
