👀 These tiny moving worms are microfilaria — heartworm larvae in the bloodstream of an infected dog.

Heartworm is still a concern in Ontario, but it’s largely preventable.

Prevention is simple. Treatment is not.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Jillian to Alma Street Animal Hospital! 🐾

Jillian is an Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) student who will be spending July and August with us as part of her veterinary training. She is set to graduate in 2027 and has a special interest in small animal general practice.

When she's not immersed in veterinary medicine, Jillian enjoys cooking and baking. Originally from Toronto, she shares her home with her two cats, Cricket (pictured 🐱) and Lavender.

We're excited to have Jillian as part of our team this summer! If you see her around the clinic, be sure to say hello and help us give her a warm Alma Street welcome! 💙🐾
