Yesterday marked 1 month post tib fib break for our little man! If you don’t already know, Tater is disabled so a break for him is an even bigger deal.

Since his break, Tater has gone through 8 bandage changes (more than the average dog but he has soiled a few sadly), a re-splint, 2 acupuncture sessions, 1 rehab session and has experienced endless amounts of love.

This morning, Tater used his splint to stand on and swung his right hip forward. He has officially taken his first step and you bet your asses I cheered hard when he did.

We still have a long way to go, but he really is the most resilient and determined dog I have ever met.

Here’s to more cheers and tears! We’ve got this Tootie 😘

Monday’s are for…

ME.

Wait what? I’m taking time for myself? Who am I…

Going forward, Monday’s will be for my dogs, my family (specifically my nieces because they’re growing up way too fast) and my mental health.

I could write a huge explanation for justifying this decision, but when it comes down to it, I am always working. I always have visiting dogs, always emails and texts to answer, and always prioritize others and their dogs over myself and my own. Monday’s will now be for me to adventure with my dogs, visit my family and if there’s time, maybe catch up on some messages.

Of course any dogs staying overnight with me will be well cared for on Monday’s, but it will be a slow paced day for them. This change is necessary if I’m going to be around forever! This isn’t a job to me, taking care of your dogs is my life. I will be doing this forever. I can only hope my families support this decision ❤️

Meet Honey! Adoptable through CANINE HAVEN RESCUE 😍
Honey has been boarding with us for 3 weeks and officially sprung out to her very own foster home yesterday. We’re going to miss this girl but we were happy to be a part of her journey! Help us find her forever family by sharing her story 💛💛

Honey is a 3.5-year-old petite Lab mix with a sweet personality, playful spirit, and just the right amount of energy for someone who wants a dog who can keep up with them—but also settle in for some downtime.

She is dog-social, crate trained, smart as a whip, and eager to keep learning. Honey is the kind of girl who will happily be your adventure buddy and then curl up after a fun day.

Honey is currently working on:
    •    🐾 Basic obedience
    •    🦮 Mild–moderate leash reactivity
    •    🚗 Better car manners

Her ideal person:
Honey would love a confident, patient handler who is willing to continue helping her build her skills and confidence. She’s looking for someone who wants a four-legged adventure buddy and is ready to have a whole lot of fun along the way.
