Every pet has a personality all their own, but behavior can also tell us quite a bit about their wellbeing. Changes in energy, appetite, sleep, sociability, or normal routines are worth paying attention to, especially when they appear suddenly. If something about your pet seems different, call (705) 566-4243. Now describe your pet using only emojis!

Heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, and infected pets may not show obvious symptoms early on.

The good news is that heartworm disease is preventable. Staying consistent with veterinarian-recommended prevention and testing gives your pet important protection against this mosquito-borne disease.

Have questions about heartworm testing or prevention? Call (705) 566-4243.

🐾Pet of the Week at the Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter🐾
Meet Oreo, an approximately 6-year-old Lab mix who is still waiting for her perfect match. Oreo originally arrived at the shelter with her sister, Lisa. While Lisa has found her forever home, Oreo is still patiently waiting for someone to see just how special she is. Since her sister's adoption, Oreo has seemed a little lonely, and we'd love nothing more than to see her find a loving family of her own. Oreo can be a bit cautious when meeting new people, but don't let her shy first impression fool you. Once she gets to know you, her goofy personality shines through! She loves to play, be silly, and spend time with the people she trusts. Because Oreo came to us with another dog, we know she can successfully live with a canine companion. However, she can be selective about her dog friends, so any potential dog siblings should meet her first to make sure it's a good fit. Oreo is looking for someone willing to give her a little patience and understanding as she settles in. In return, she'll reward you with loyalty, companionship, and plenty of laughs from her playful antics. Could you be the person Oreo has been waiting for?

Many clients may have noticed an unfamiliar face at the clinic over the past couple of weeks and we wanted to take the time to formally introduce the newest member of our clinic family!
Claire is a veterinary assistant who has recently moved to the city of Sudbury from Yellowknife. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her dogs (just like the rest of us!) and expressing her creativity through artistic hobbies like painting. 🎨
We welcome Claire as a part of our team and are excited to see her growth in the profession. ❤️
Ps. We are also excited to see Maybelline grow during her future appointments with us! 🥰

Big or little, every dog has individual needs. Size and breed can influence exercise requirements, nutrition, joint health, dental care, and even how quickly a dog ages. Whatever size pup has your heart, routine veterinary care helps keep them feeling their best. Call (705) 566-4243 to schedule a visit.

Those little treats can add up faster than you think!

Treats should complement a nutritionally balanced diet, not become a major source of daily calories. Keep portions small and remember that chews, table scraps, and training rewards all count toward your dog's daily intake.

Concerned about your pet's weight or nutrition? Call (705) 566-4243.
