We’re drowning in kitten food, medical supplies, paperwork, bedding, toys, and all the other things that come with helping hundreds of cats each month. If you have clean, gently used storage totes or bins you’d like to donate, we’d love to give them a second life.

Bonus points if they come with lids—we’re fancy like that.

Extra bonus points if they’re filled with old towels, cat toys, food bowls, p*e pads, or anything else that we could use!

If you see a healthy litter of kittens… leave them alone. Mama will be back.

Kitnapping does more harm than good.

Having a spare mama who can nurse these guys is fine and good, but it is not often that we feel comfortable enough to put nabbed orphans into a pre-existing litter.

Why?

Contamination!

These new kittens may carry diseases or parasites that are foreign to the new mama and litter. Or even the reverse! Mama could have panleukopenia and transfer it onto the new babies!

Yesterday we received these little guys because we have a Cracker Jack team of AWESOME bottle feeders but you know what? These 5 little beauties are having a heck of a time feeding. They’re used to mama! At 2.5 weeks old, they’re used to their mama coming around every 9 hours and they’ll cluster feed.

Our wee Japanese snacks take about two hours to feed at a time because every ni**le and milk replacer just isn’t comfortable for them. They want a mama.

And what about mama? Now that her babies are gone, she’ll get engorged with milk because the babies didn’t wean naturally, she’ll got into heat, and be pregnant in a day or two. These little ones will have siblings in 2 months!

When you see kittens in the wild, leave them there. And remember where they are. Check up on them from time to time.

If you are uncomfortable with them being outdoors, get over it and fast. There are ways that you can use them as bait to trap mama but you HAVE to be clever. There are ways online to do it.

And before you trap- have a plan! Contact a rescue or humane society to let them know what you’re doing. They have the best advice around.

Our team can handle this, but it would have been super cool if we didn’t have to.
