👀 WHOSE EYE IS THAT?! 🐾

Alright, Muskoka pet lovers… it’s time to put those detective skills to the test! 🕵️🐶🐱

We’ve got a close-up of some furry friends' eyes, but can you guess who they belong to? 👁️

🔍 Drop your guess in the comments! Is it a dog or a cat? Do you recognize this familiar face?

No peeking at anyone else’s answers! 😉 We want to see who has the sharpest eye in Muskoka!

👇 Let the guessing game begin!

✨ Our Veterinary Assistants! ✨

VAs are often the ones working behind the scenes to keep the day moving, the patients comfortable, and the team supported. They do SO much more than you might realize!

🐶🐱 What does a Veterinary Assistant do?

• Helping prepare patients for their appointments
• Assisting with patient handling & restraint
• Keeping patients comfortable and giving them lots of TLC ❤️
• Preparing rooms and equipment
• Cleaning, disinfecting & keeping the clinic running smoothly
• Assisting with surgery & dental procedures
• Helping prepare patients for anesthesia and recovery
• Restocking supplies and keeping treatment areas organized
• Assisting RVTs and veterinarians throughout the day
• Helping with patient care and husbandry
• Preparing equipment and supplies for procedures
• Washing ALL. THE. THINGS. 🧼😂
• And somehow finding time to give approximately 7,000 treats and scritches a day! 🦴🐾

But perhaps one of the most important things our VAs do is help make a visit a little less scary.

A gentle voice.
A comforting touch.
A distraction with a treat.
A little extra patience for a nervous patient. ❤️

Those little moments matter.

To our wonderful Veterinary Assistants: thank you for everything you do! You are an essential part of our team, and the care, compassion and hard work you bring to our patients every day does not go unnoticed. 💙

Help us give our VAs some love in the comments! 👇🐾

🍂 Fall is beautiful… but it comes with a few things pet parents should watch for! 🐾

As the leaves change and the temperatures drop, keep an eye out for:

🍁 Mushrooms — Some can be toxic to pets.
🎃 Halloween decorations — Curious noses can get into things they shouldn’t!
🧊 Cooler temperatures — Make sure pets have a warm, dry place to rest.
🌰 Fallen nuts & seeds — Some can cause stomach upset or worse if eaten.
🐿️ Wildlife — Fall can bring plenty of tempting critters into the yard!
🕷️ Ticks — Ticks love to hide in leaf piles. They are still active above zero degrees!

A little extra awareness goes a long way toward keeping your four-legged family members safe this season. 🧡

What’s your pet’s favourite part of fall? 🍂🐶🐱

Reminder, we are closed tomorrow, if you need any assistance please do not wait until Tuesday to call us. You can reach Huronia Urgent Care in Orillia 705-325-4224, or HVEC in Barrie 705-722-0377 for the closest options near us.

🦃🍽️ Thanksgiving is almost here! 🍂

While you’re busy preparing the feast, remember that some of our favourite holiday foods aren't safe for our four-legged guests.

Keep these safely out of reach:

🚫 Onions & garlic
🚫 Chocolate
🚫 Grapes & raisins
🚫 Xylitol/birch sugar
🚫 Alcohol
🚫 Fatty table scraps & bones

And remember — a pleading face does not make something pet-safe. 😂🐶

If you want to include your pet in the festivities, stick with treats and foods made specifically for them. ❤️

One more important reminder: We are CLOSED Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! 🧡🐾

🐱 The Blanket Burrito — Has officially declared fall the season of maximum coziness.

🦮 The Trail Boss — Ready to sniff every square inch of the great outdoors.

🦷 When was the last time you checked your pet’s teeth? 🐶🐱

Dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in pets — and it can be easy to miss because our pets are experts at hiding discomfort.

Keep an eye out for:

👃 Bad breath
🦷 Tartar or discoloured teeth
🩸 Red or bleeding gums
🍽️ Difficulty eating
🧸 Dropping food or chewing differently
💧 Excessive drooling

Regular dental care helps keep those pearly whites healthier and can make a big difference to your pet’s overall wellbeing.

Give your pet a big smile check today! 😁🐾
