🎉🐟 WE DID IT—1,000 FOLLOWERS! 🐟🎉

Eight months ago, River and Reef Aquatics was only a dream that I hoped our community would believe in. I still remember making our very first $100 sale—and today, we are celebrating 1,000 amazing people following our journey!

To some, 1,000 followers may only be a number. To me, it represents every person who has walked through our doors, travelled to visit us, shared one of our posts, recommended our store, left us a kind review or simply encouraged us to keep going.

Building River and Reef has taken a lot of hard work, long days, difficult moments and a whole lot of heart—but seeing the support we have received makes every bit of it worthwhile.

Thank you, Grande Prairie and all of our surrounding communities, for believing in this little locally owned aquarium store. Some of you travel a long way to visit us, and that support means more than you could ever know.

To celebrate this incredible milestone, we will also be giving a special gift to one lucky winner! 🎁 Keep watching our page—more details will be coming very soon!

🌈 Foxtail Rainbowfish Now in Stock! 🌈

These colourful little rainbowfish are full of energy and personality! Their bright yellow fins, shimmering bodies and distinctive forked tails really come alive as they swim together through a planted aquarium.

Foxtail Rainbowfish are peaceful schooling fish and should be kept in a group of at least six, although a larger group will make them feel more secure and display their best colours and natural behaviour.

They are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet of quality flakes, small pellets, frozen brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms and other appropriately sized foods.

Great tank mates include:

* Other peaceful rainbowfish
* Tetras and rasboras
* Corydoras
* Small peaceful loaches
* Gouramis
* Peaceful dwarf cichlids
* Shrimp that are too large to be eaten

Avoid large aggressive fish or persistent fin-nippers. A planted aquarium with open swimming room, clean water and a secure-fitting lid will keep these active little beauties happy—they can jump!

🦋 African Butterfly Fish Now in Stock! 🦋

These fascinating surface-dwellers are unlike anything else! With their wing-like fins, unique camouflage and incredible ability to strike at food from above, they make an amazing addition to the right aquarium.

African Butterfly Fish are carnivores that prefer food floating at the surface. They enjoy insects, frozen or live bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp and other meaty foods. Some may also accept floating pellets once settled in.

They generally do well with peaceful tank mates that stay in the middle or lower levels of the aquarium, such as larger tetras, peaceful catfish, Corydoras, loaches and calm dwarf cichlids. Avoid fin-nippers, aggressive fish and anything small enough to fit in their mouth.

They appreciate gentle surface movement, floating plants and plenty of cover. A secure-fitting lid is essential—these fish are excellent jumpers!

😂🐠 Apparently today was “Discus Date Night” at River & Reef!

Both sides of the discus tanks decided to lay eggs at the exact same time. Talk about perfect synchronization! Now we wait and see which pair becomes proud parents first. 🐟 let’s take a poll .
