The loss of a pet can be one of the most difficult experiences to navigate. For many, this grief can feel especially heavy when it’s not fully understood by others, or when we’re unsure how to process and express the depth of our emotions.

This week’s session is focused on coping with pet loss. Together, we’ll explore:

✔️ Understanding the emotional impact of losing a pet, including feelings beyond grief.

✔️ Why pet loss can feel so profound, —and why your feelings are valid.

✔️ Practical tools and strategies to help you cope, heal, and support your mental health.

sessions are open, welcoming spaces to learn more about mental health and access helpful resources in a safe, judgment-free environment. Whether your loss is recent or from years ago, we hope you’ll leave feeling supported, understood, and better equipped to care for yourself.

A post no one wants to make, our shelter is at capacity. If you’re wondering why we can’t answer the phone or messages.. heres a few photos to explain. After an emergency intake today, we’re now caring for nearly 100 animals. 88 currently with 6 on the way this weekend. Space was made where there was never space before but there is a breaking point. Many of these animals require vet care and have to be held for treatment. Daily task of caring for animals is taking longer than normal and is taking a toll on our shelter.

We’ve been closed to visitors and owned-animal surrenders but had been doing our best to help with emergencies and strays. Unfortunately today’s intake has put us into the red. Please call ahead before bringing any animal, we may not be able to help.

Thank you to everyone who donated crates today. Your quick response made it possible to accommodate today’s emergency case of 8 cats and a dog. ❤️‍🩹

If you’d like to adopt, please apply online and give us a little extra time to respond. You can speed up your application by calling your vet clinic and giving permission for us to access your records. A general application for “dog, puppy, cat, or kitten” is perfect if you haven’t chosen a specific animal yet or if you’re open to ones that may not be posted. Every adoption opens space and gives hope. 🏡🧡

FB messages/comments may not be seen quickly - the best way to show interest is by submitting an application!

Due to the high volume of applications, only the selected applicant will be contacted. Thank you for your support, understanding and patience! 💗

~ADOPTED TOGETHER~

It’s a fear many of us have.. what will happen to my pets after I’m gone?

Jasper & Jakes mom loved them dearly and now is no longer with us. She made sure they would be safe and entrusted us to find them a home, together, that will love them the way she did. They were her world and she didn’t want to leave them. Jasper & Jake are now at the shelter and although we’ve put in extra effort to make them comfortable.. they aren’t. Of course they aren’t. They miss their mom and their house. We have many of her/their things sent with them to make them feel more at ease and they are in a room to themselves. I think everyone in the rescue world can agree seeing animals come in after their owner passes is second only to abuse/neglect cases for the way it pulls on your heart. 💔 These are 2 incredibly sweet, incredibly loved cats who are totally out of their element and now need to find a new home with comfort again. They are 9 year old brothers, both neutered and need to stay together. They are huge boys! The pictures don’t show their true size. They also have the most beautiful coats and markings visible in this short video. https://youtube.com/shorts/GxqkoHc_dF4?si=D-pNH41SyYhExs72

Jasper & Jake have always lived as the only 2 cats in the home and with an owner who had lots of time for them. A similar set up would be ideal for them, as soon as possible! Please share and tag anyone who may be interested so we can get that boys in loving a home and give their mom her final wish. 🤍🪽
